Sharp C-mount LINOS MeVis-C 35mm 1.6 on Olympus OM-D E-M5
  • I've found this incredible C-mount lens on Ebay for 150€. It's a LINOS MeVis-C 35mm 1.6 C-mount lens made by Qioptiq.

    It's an industrial lens, usualy sold for 1090$ , http://pstechnik.de/en/optics-c-mount.php .

The 35mm is designed for 1'' sensor. It has been used in some of the shots of Slumdog Millionaire. I'm looking for a solution to use it with my anamorphic lens my baby Hypergonar. I did some fast test and it's very promising !!!!!

  • Nice Seb! How do you judge exposure on the EM5? Does it have zebras?

  • I did not have bad surprise when I've watched the rush, same as what I've seen on the screen and in the viewfinder. I don't know if the OMD have Zebras, I always switch of this function...

  • I think this is the same lens...HK seller selling on Ebay for $69.99...maybe they are ones that didn't pass QC at Qioptiq?

  • @sebfarges, does your hypergonar screw right onto this lens? pictures would be great!

  • Awesome, as always, Seb. In fact your videos are the reason why i have right now an omd em5 with me right now!

Also, i would like to ask you the in-camera settings you suggest to shoot video, thanks

  • @fosterchen NO this is not the same lens at all !!! It's price is around 1000$ :) http://www.qioptiq-shop.com/en/Precision-Optics/LINOS-Machine-Vision-Solutions/LINOS-Machine-Vision-Lenses/MeVis-C.html?cur=3 Yes I can screw my baby Hypergonar directly on the lens... I'm waiting for a special adapter I've order in england... I will unscrew the ring that is maintening the glass, then replace by a flat ring 25mm outer and 19mm inner for the original baby Hypergonar small clamp (which allowed me to adjust the alignment of the anamorphic). @Renovatio Thanks a lot for your comment. I'm an early OM-D owner... For the moment I shoot with the #3 art filter and take off the deep black.
