are there any consumer prized hdmi EVF's that have some sort of crop system so that you can actually frame for other aspect ratio's than 16:9 ?

Just use sticky tape.

There is also the black permanet marker option or the hacked version of the HDMI cable. :-)

Realy black sticky tape is the universal option.
