Accsoon CineView HE Released – Affordable Dual Band HDMI Wireless Video Transmission System
  • image

Accsoon has just unveiled their new entry-level wireless video transmission system, the CineView HE. At first glance, similar to the CineView Quad, this new HDMI-only model offers a longer operating distance (1,200ft/300m), Dual Band technology, low latency (< 60ms), UVC output for direct streaming, and support for the Accsoon Go app. It will be available in May for $499.

A few days ago, Chinese manufacturer Accsoon released the CineView Quad, an SDI/HDMI wireless video transmission system with an operating range of up to 500ft/150m that comes with interesting smart features and an extremely competitive price ($529.00).

Now the company is releasing a new entry-level product, the Accsoon CineView HE, that is in the same price range. It looks like a perfect option for those filmmakers wanting to approach the wireless video world. Let’s take a closer look to see how it differs from its CineView Quad sibling.

    Accsoon CineView HE: overview

First off, the new Accsoon CineView HE is an HDMI-only wireless video system consisting of a transmitter (TX) and a receiver (RX). The two units support up to 1080p60 inputs/outputs, pair automatically, and communicate via an anti-interference wireless technology over 2.4GHz and 5GHz frequencies.

This Dual Band system makes it possible for the TX to transfer the same image over the two frequency bands simultaneously. The RX then combines the two signals into a single one to achieve optimal, stable results.

Besides the lack of SDI connections, another difference with the CineView Quad is the maximum operating distance. Indeed, the new CineView HE ensures stable signal transmission over a much longer range: 1,200ft/300m (Line Of Sight). Moreover, Accsoon claims a very low latency value for this system (lower than 60ms).

    TX and RX design

The Accsoon CineView HE TX and RX share an almost identical fanless design. A 1.3-inch OLED display on both units shows an overview of the main settings, which can be accessed using the simple button layout at the front. Four removable antennas sit on top of the alloy, while a control knob on the side allows for channel selection.

While the TX features one HDMI IN and an HDMI Loop-Out port, a UVC (USB-C) output port on the receiver replaces the HDMI input. This allows connecting the RX to a computer for direct HD-live streaming to the most popular platforms.

The solid aerospace-grade aluminum construction keeps the weight of the units down to a minimum. In fact, both the TX and RX only weigh 225g (with antennas) which makes them fairly easy to rig.

    Power

When it comes to powering the system, the Accsoon CineView HE offers multiple options that can even work simultaneously to prevent power loss. You can choose between an NP-F style battery plate on the back of each unit, a DC input port (7.4V-16.8V) as well as a USB-C power source (minimum 5V/2A). According to Accsoon, the system can run for up to 12 hours non-stop on a single NP-F970 cell.

    Smart features

Like its SDI/HDMI sibling, the CineView HE comes packed with some interesting smart features. These include the ability to connect and instantly share previews with up to four iOS/Android devices using the free Accsoon Go app.

The app allows decent control over the image, as it supports a series of monitoring tools, including histogram, waveform, focus assist, zebra, false color, and more. From the app, users can also apply 3D LUTs to the original Log footage to instantly create pleasing-to-see previews for their director or client.

    Price and availability

The new Accsoon CineView HE will be available from May 2022. The official retail price of this system is $499. For reference, the SDI/HMDI CineView Quad is currently priced at $529.
