Chinese antitrust authority SAMR this week announced an investigation into local auto semiconductor manufacturers and distributors suspected of price collusion and price manipulation. China is the largest automotive market, where the production of cars of most popular brands is localized, and its own industry is actively developing. Even an insignificant change in prices for semiconductor components can have a significant impact on the PRC market as a whole, therefore, the situation with the supply of chips at inflated prices quite rightly raised questions from the regulatory body.
