Due to physical limits Thunderbolt will keep same short wires limit and same speed as Thunderbolt 3.
Interface had been originally developed by Intel for optical interconnects, but Apple insisted to use copper wires due to much higher profits.
Hence the issue with speed.
Note that all this PR with Intel being generous and USB 4 related things is fake.
Intel will still certify each computer for very big money. And it is still will be not much Windows PCs with Thunderbolt and due to new requirements and AMD progress number of notebook with it expected to drop 2-3 times.
