Scientists working on a drone development programme created a “game-changing” methanol-powered fuel system that kept their UAV in the air for 12 hours.
It took them more than two years to get the FY-36 unmanned aerial vehicle to the flying prototype stage, said Zhang Wenyu, general manager of Feye UAV Technology, a Tianjin-based drone manufacturer that collaborated with the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics, under the Chinese Academy of Sciences, in northeastern Liaoning province.
Best is to provide summary.
This is a real game changer
Big catch here is mass of the drone and shape of it.
So they could have lot of methanol and lot of space for all stuff.
You can't make the same amout of time with the same amount in diesel or petrol. It's disrupting tech. No catches here. The drone isn't that big either.
@endotoxic doesn't make up for the fact that China is a toxic industrial waste-dump for Capitalism
Fu#&k that! There is no clean country and I mean it. If it's not political then is industrial if not that then is something else.
Deal with it.
