You can install 3 GPUs, have 10Gbit Ethernet, 3 M.2 SSDs and have one full slot left for 4x M2. SSD or another GPU.

Processors performance role (if it is fast enough) will be constantly dropping, if we look for development of leading NLEs.
Yet you will have nice upgrade path up to 2990W.
AMD stripped compatibility for Threadripper 3xxx, as otherwise they won't be able to sell new overpriced motherboards. And won't be able to drop prices for older CPUs also :-)
