Atomos will present 4K camera with global shutter
  • 4x high-speed camera

    • Professional box camera for sports broadcasts. Supports FHD 240fps high-speed shooting and 4K video.
    • By adopting a global shutter, it is possible to accurately reproduce intense movements like sports.
    • Cost performance is very high, and it matches the demand for sports broadcasts where multi-way broadcasts are increasing.
    • When producing multi-viewpoint images using multiple cameras, the function that synchronizes the exposure timing between cameras enables smooth video expression.
    • It is a product that is ideal for next-generation sports broadcasting in terms of functionality and cost performance.
    • A demonstration will be displayed along with Avid FastServe | LiveEdit.

  • That's one missing spot in low to mid range end, with good IQ and Dynamic range quality high frame rate camera (other than $$ phantom) . Hope we see more cameras with good High Speed function at mid to low price range

  • This should be interesting. It feels like while the big companies dragged their feet and looked at the ground they were familiar with, the once relatively small companies kept their focus and direction in line with what the customers actually want.

  • This camera is actually being made by MEDIAEDGE which is indeed the distributor in Japan for Atomos, but is not built by Atomos. They have put a note on the site to be clear and asking websites to clear up the misunderstanding. It still should be a very interesting camera, and will be premiered along side some of the new line up for Atomos, which is where the confusion came from. You had me at global shutter MEDIAEDGE! Really looking forward to seeing this camera.

  • Interesting points. Micro Four Thirds mount, Global Shutter. 4K (3840x2160) 60p, 1080p 240p. Many SDI ports, as well as a fiber optic output, and apparently captures sweaty high fives very well =) https://www.mediaedge-corp.com/products/564/ more specs here https://www.mediaedge-corp.com/products/564/
