  • Aputure COB 120d II (daylight version), Measurement using CV600, Russian Lab processing

We cover spectrum, color temperature, and all modern color quality standards, including latest 2016 and 2017 years ones.

Never select light based on just CRI number.

Focus on TM30 and CIE 224 and look for color distortion and Rf values.

COB 120d II is good light with light quality suitable for videos.

  • have you seen the cable at the plug at 0:58? oh man...

  • @peaceonearth

Well, it is not production unit.

On production units connectors are attached differently and special rubber parts are used.

  • If the fan noise and the price are not too big, this could be THE light.

  • Looks like a big improvement over my older version

  • This looks like a nice upgrade! It's a little bit of a bummer that they didn't bring the temperature down to closer to 5500k to match the C300D and the LS120T, but 25% brighter looks great - and some of the built-in effects, if implemented well, could be genuinely useful.

  • @eatstoomuchjam

According to Newsshooter, the temp now IS 5500k, so that should make you happy!

  • @roly

How about look at measurement above?

Of course they could change something a little, but I doubt it.

  • Wow.

You are one polite young man.

  • @roly The PV measurements show it still being about 500 degees warmer than the C300D. It's less than the difference with the original, but still a bit. I've mixed the original and the C300D and it's not obnoxiously different, but it is noticeable in some scenes. I guess this one will be a little less noticeable.

  • Another good review.
