Last chart is most interesting - in high number of cores CPU load (read - video apps) advantage of new generation is smaller.
Hi guys what would your opinion be of this cpu Ryzen 7 2700/X exclusively for Premiere/After animation/Audition, no games no 3D. Regarding more than renders usability, meaning real usage for multitask, heavy and huge projects, huge amounts of effects, etc. REAL WORK. Is it better than a 8700k??
I'm afraid of AMD because of different cpu instructions (or better optimised for intel), because of intel quicksync and the way is very well implemented en several software, and AMD don't have this. And also stability rumours.
So would you buy it? or better go intel way...
I'd wait until it's out and the review moratorium is lifted. Until then, the performance is unknown.
After that please give me your opinion ;-)
After that, you won't need it - you'll have the same websites available as I do. :)
@eatstoomuchjam Websites don't comment on CPU Video instructions and how they work on adobe suite. Or how are the software behaving with current implementations of code. Almost all reviews are cpu only based, regarding applications or games, and I need to think in workflow, real workflow based on real experience, because at the end of the day all those benchmarks are of no practical use, in fluidity, stability, error free operation and work experience.
Today I own a I7 3770k overclocked at 4.3ghz on one core and 4ghz in all 8 cores and as far as my experience there is in real work about a 10 to 15% improvement loss vs an 8700k (stock) regarding the CPU only. So no there isn't a very huge difference for me to update just yet. But maybe AMD or intel will release a very good candidate, in this next months, I believe that Ryzen2 will boost productivity in adobe by a better margin because of the extra cores and speeds, 4.3 Ghz is great and maybe there is headroom for a 4.5ghz overclock, that and 16 cores at 4ghz its huge. Well this is all in paper, so for that I'm asking your personal experience with the Ryzen 7's and your opinion on this regard. Thanks
I have no personal experience, but it would seem like there are a few videos on youtube... https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=ryzen+adobe+premiere
I'd imagine that after the review moratorium is lifted in two days, there will be a lot of similar videos for the newer chips.
