Matterport, the leading immersive 3D media technology company, has today launched the Pro2 Lite camera.  At £2,195, the Pro2 Lite is Matterport's most affordable camera to date, increasing the range of opportunities for those who want to capture spaces in True3D™.

The new camera delivers Matterport's fast and easy-to-use interactive 3D walkthrough experience and high resolution 2D photography as per the established Pro2 model.  It offers the fully immersive walkthrough as well as the unique 3D Dollhouse perspective, which conveys an immediate understanding of scale and property layout.

A Pro2 Lite user can scan up to 8,000 sq ft of space on four hours of battery life. The camera caters to businesses that are new to Matterport technology and have a need for a lower volume of captures, but still want a high quality product.

Bill Brown, Matterport CEO, said: "Matterport's True3D™ technology offers the world's most advanced 3D reality capture platform for businesses.  The introduction of the Pro2 Lite means that we can service more customers around the world as we launch the high quality camera with a price point that makes 3D captures even more accessible.

"3D capture is becoming the baseline for property marketing, communication and collaboration.  The Pro2 Lite will help fuel that momentum and support our mission to democratise 3D technology. By making Matterport technology more affordable and therefore more accessible, our customers have the tools to set themselves apart in an increasingly competitive industry."

The Pro2 Lite release comes on the heels of Matterport's announcement that it has enabled the publishing of Matterport scans to Google Street View and rolled out significantly faster capture capabilities.  This will allow for both a 3D immersive experience, as well as 2D photos, to be captured in less time than it would have previously taken to capture just 2D photos. This dramatically increases the usefulness, as well as the ROI for customers.

The Pro2 Lite will be shipping in March and is available for pre-order here.
