--SALE ITEM and LOCATION
RARE COOKE zoom lens located in Bangkok,Thailand S/N 788974
-- DESCRIPTION
This lens is the precursor and the same generation as the 10.4-52 T2.8 which covered super-16. We are talking of Cooke glass here, so quality is there for sure. You can use it with the Pocket Camera or the Micro Camera. Not sure how it would fit the RED in 2K crop mode, but is should not be not too far from the Blackmagic (I would assume).
Please note that it won't fully cover S16. Abakus does a 1.2x extension that makes it fully cover the sensor, same glass that Optex used to employ during its conversions. The zoom covers S16 from 25 onward. Before it vignettes, but not badly so. You can watch a viral shot with it here, among other lenses
you can find more info in here as well http://cinematechnic.com/resources/optics_for_super-16.html
Focus and aperture are excellent, so it's the zoom action. As smooth as it all can possibly be. Both the front and the back glass have no fungus, no scratches, no marks as far as I can see. There is a little hair trapped into some of the elements but it does not show when filming. I was unable to take a good shot of it.
Cosmetically please see pics. I would personally rate this lens to be in very good cosmetic conditions.
Lens has been always kept in a A/C non-smoking room. Its story is pretty simple, I found it on the shelves of the TV channel I am working for. Since the company was purchased, I did not have any use for it.
Hard to let go such a rare baby, but I need to make different business investments.
