War: Amazon joins list of fascist corporations
    • We’ve suspended shipment of retail products to customers based in Russia and Belarus, and we will no longer be accepting new Russia and Belarus-based AWS customers and Amazon third-party sellers," Amazon said

OF course, Amazon also stole money of all people subscribed on Amazon Prime video, declaring that they are aggressors, hence mney can be used for better things, like buying new yacht for Bezos, of course with Ukraine flag on the side.

While Russia's ecommerce industry has seen explosive growth over recent years, it's mostly dominated by local retailers like Wildberries.ru and Ozon.ru, whereas Amazon is still struggling to compete.

War: Photo stock sites started to steal money
    • Shutterstock sent an email informing them that due to sanctions imposed on banks, they will not be withdrawing creators' money for the time being. But he does not plan to suspend cooperation with Russian authors.

To translate properly - they stole your money and will use them for speculations and may be later they will allow you to get original part. May be. bank sanctions reference is bullshit as 80% of banks are not under any sanctions. Even largest bank is still not switched off SWIFT.

Depositphotos sent a letter that it no longer works with Russia and Belarus.

Of course, they also stole some money :-)

War: Developing war in SSL certificates space
    • Users of public services are advised to install browsers that support the Russian communication security certificate, such as Yandex.Browser and Atom, for better access to the portal and other sites, the Ministry of Digital Affairs said.

"Some sites may not open now. This is due to problems in the work of certification centers that check the security and reliability of Internet resources. In order to have access to all sites and necessary online services, including public services, we recommend installing browsers that support Russian certificate," the ministry said in a message sent to users of the State Services.

It clarifies that "now such functionality is available, for example, in Yandex.Browser or Atom."

The Atom browser was developed by Mail.ru Group (now VK), it is a browser with VK Connect synchronization.

On March 4, the Ministry of Digital Transformation announced that regulations would soon be adopted to regulate the work of the national certification center for the free issuance of TLS certificates to Russian legal entities, which will help users maintain secure access to sites that have had their TLS revoked. TLS (Transport Layer Security) is a cryptographic protocol for organizing secure communications on the Internet.

The department clarified that it will be possible to obtain a TLS certificate on the State Services portal in a completely remote mode. All browsers and operating systems will have to support the operation of TLS certificates on sites that receive them, and a complete list of domains for which certificates have been issued can be seen on the State Services portal.

Google and Firefox are expected to block SSL enabled access to key government and banks sites by manipulating certification centers and revoking certificates.

    War: Nationalization of some assets
    • The idea to nationalize the property of foreign companies that stopped working in Russia came out in United Russia. Such a measure will prevent bankruptcy and save jobs, according to the party.

The Government Commission on Legislative Activities has approved the second package of measures to support the Russian economy in the face of sanctions, which, among other things, provides for “the first step towards the nationalization of the property of foreign companies,” according to the United Russia Telegram channel.

The initiative came from the party itself. The bill allows the introduction of external administration by court in organizations, more than 25% of which are owned by foreign persons from unfriendly states, if they stop working in Russia. This will prevent bankruptcy and save jobs, the party noted.

The owner of the company can give up external management within five days if he resumes work or sells a share, provided that the business and employees remain. Otherwise, the court appoints a temporary administration for three months, and then the shares of the new organization are put up for auction, and the old one is liquidated. The new owner undertakes to keep at least 2/3 of the staff and continue the activities of the old organization for at least a year.

According to Andrei Isaev, deputy head of the faction in the State Duma, we are talking about hundreds of thousands of jobs. He noted that "our people who own all the technologies" work at such enterprises, and raw materials, as a rule, are produced in Russia.

“There are all legal prerequisites. In Russian and international law there is a concept - preventing more harm to lesser ones. We must ask the government to grant the right to terminate franchise agreements on the most favorable terms, to ignore patent rights for these organizations,” Isaev said at an operational meeting to discuss measures to ensure socio-economic stability.

More than a hundred foreign companies and services have previously announced the suspension or termination of work in Russia. Among them are the automakers Mercedes-Benz, Škoda and Volkswagen, the IKEA furniture and home goods chain, and others. All of them have production facilities in Russia.

War: Proven that Apple makes unrepairable mess
    • According to data published by the non-profit American group U.S. Public Research Interest Group (U.S. PIRG), Apple, Microsoft, and Google laptops and/or smartphones were found to be the least repairable compared to competitors like Asus, Dell, and Motorola. At the same time, information was mainly provided by the companies themselves.

Based on the U.S. PIRG took data from French sources - last year in France, for the first time in the world, a law came into force requiring manufacturing companies to assign a maintainability index to each device. In the USA, they decided to supplement it with their own data by connecting the well-known iFixit portal to cooperation.

U.S. PIRG compiled French data on 187 laptops and smartphones from the 10 most popular US manufacturers, adding an assessment of the activities of companies that obstruct self-repair laws. The "hybrid" rating showed not only how ready to repair the products, but also how actively businesses oppose the rights of consumers to repair them themselves.

The French index is a ten-point scale that ranks products on five criteria: ease of disassembly, availability of repair manuals, availability of parts, price of parts, and a criterion specific to each category. The law requires that the total score and the scoring table itself be published for French clients.

Of the 10 companies included in the U.S. PIRG, Apple got the worst score, with relatively recent MacBook Airs and Pros averaging 3.16 out of 10, and 20 iPhones up to and including the iPhone 7 averaging 2.75 out of 10. In the notebook segment, Microsoft scored 4.6. for nine recent Surface models, and Google scores 4.64 for an odd selection of the Pixel 4a, 6, and 6 Pro. For comparison, 36 Dell laptops and 22 Asus laptops scored 7.81 and 7.61 points respectively, while Motorola, in the smartphone market, scored 7.77 points out of 18 smartphones.

In terms of "pure" repairability without a lobbying score, Apple laptops scored 3.24 points for the complexity of disassembly, and Dell - 9.55 points. "Controversial" is Microsoft's policy - its models scored 7.34 points for ease of disassembly, but in the French rating, the company's models are rated extremely low due to the low availability of repair manuals and spare parts. In addition, Microsoft has a long history of resisting self-repair at all levels.
