    MAGA: As you destroy democracy you need guns to sit on
    • image

      image

      There are about 3,000 total national guard troops sheltering in the Capitol right right now. Had to stay here overnight because there was nowhere to put all 15,000 troops being brought into DC for inauguration from various state national guards.

      US elites now stay due to almost total mass media control and sit on guns.

      They no longer believe in support among ordinary people, hence they block all Washington DC reservations and this is why they need 15k heavy armed men to protect themselves.

    Silicon disaster: Intel 7nm also failed, CEO removed
    • Intel today announced that its board of directors has appointed 40-year technology industry leader Pat Gelsinger as its new chief executive officer, effective Feb. 15, 2021. Gelsinger will also join the Intel board of directors upon assuming the role. He will succeed Bob Swan, who will remain CEO until Feb. 15.

      Today’s announcement is unrelated to Intel’s 2020 financial performance. Intel expects its fourth-quarter 2020 revenue and EPS to exceed its prior guidance provided on Oct. 22, 2020. In addition, the company has made strong progress on its 7nm process technology and plans on providing an update when it reports its full fourth-quarter and full-year 2020 results as previously scheduled on Jan. 21, 2021.

      “The board and I deeply appreciate Bob Swan for his leadership and significant contributions through this period of transformation for Intel,” continued Ishrak. “Under his leadership, Intel has made significant progress on its strategy to transform into a multi-architecture XPU company to capitalize on market shifts and extend Intel’s reach into fast-growing markets. Bob has also been instrumental in reenergizing the company’s culture to drive better execution of our product and innovation roadmap. He leaves Intel in a strong strategic and financial position, and we thank him for his ongoing guidance as he works with Pat to ensure the leadership transition is seamless.”

      “My goal over the past two years has been to position Intel for a new era of distributed intelligence, improving execution to strengthen our core CPU franchise and extending our reach to accelerate growth,” said Swan. “With significant progress made across those priorities, we’re now at the right juncture to make this transition to the next leader of Intel. I am fully supportive of the board’s selection of Pat and have great confidence that, under his leadership and the rest of the management team, Intel will continue to lead the market as one of the world’s most influential technology companies.”

      Most recently, Gelsinger served as the CEO of VMware since 2012, where he significantly transformed the company into a recognized global leader in cloud infrastructure, enterprise mobility and cyber security, almost tripling the company’s annual revenues. Prior to joining VMware, Gelsinger was president and chief operating officer of EMC Information Infrastructure Products at EMC, overseeing engineering and operations for information storage, data computing, backup and recovery, RSA security and enterprise solutions. Before joining EMC, he spent 30 years at Intel, becoming the company’s first chief technology officer and driving the creation of key industry technologies such as USB and Wi-Fi. He was the architect of the original 80486 processor, led 14 different microprocessor programs and played key roles in the Core and Xeon families.

      Today rumor is that 7nm output now is totally horrible and 10nm is still bad economically and in performance areas it can't match even 14nm.

      Intel already asked TSMC about volume to make some of notebook processors using 5nm tech and wants to join Apple with using TSMC 3nm. Despite TSMC having severe problems with making 3nm work.

    Coronavirus: Chinese elite wants to chancel new year in unprecedented move
    • Sensing that large seasonal migration could contribute to the spread of infection, the government asked the population to refrain from travel and stay in the cities where people work.

      Most of the cities in the southeast (especially in Guangdong province) are not native to Chinese labor migrants. Their families: parents, relatives and friends often live in other regions in Central and North China. And the New Year is one of the few opportunities to meet. Considering the 6-day working week, for many, this is the only reason to relax.

      The restrictions are still advisory in nature, but these recommendations are extremely specific:

      • it is not recommended to go to the high and medium risk zone, and these are 50 zones, including such large cities as Beijing and Dalian;
      • teachers and students from “high risk” cities are prohibited from leaving campuses and leaving;
      • people are encouraged to limit contacts, visits to places of potential congestion and to gather in groups of more than 10 people;
      • Everywhere they will check "health passports" in order to isolate the carrier and all close contacts if something happens.

    Good quote: On efficient management and bureaucracy
    • My personal managerial experience shows that bureaucracy works well only if you hold a soldering iron in its anus with one hand, while the smile of a progressive leader shines on your face, and your other hand holds the soldering iron plug at the outlet.

      Only then will the bureaucracy work as you want.

      I am a great humanist, no questions asked. But in practice, I don’t know any other ways to make the bureaucratic structure work effectively.

      Some old efficient manager.

    Energy: Cobalt-free batteries delayed for at least another 3 years
    • Panasonic aims to make cobalt-free batteries available for Tesla's electric vehicles in two to three years, as the Japanese electronics manufacturer tries to keep pace with the U.S. automaker's ambitious mission to bring EVs into the mainstream quickly.

      "Two or three years from now, we will be able to introduce a cobalt-free high energy-density cell," said Shawn Watanabe, head of energy technology and manufacturing at Panasonic of Japan, during an online session at CES, the world's biggest consumer electronics and technology expo, on Wednesday.

      Can be also never.

    Capitalism: Apple is faking smart electric car activity
    • Despite having people working on electric car, Apple is not seriously consider making such thing in real (except test stuff), at least people from inside company tell that no big activity or changes is visible. Developers working on software for this are mosty counting stars on nigh sky since COVID start.

      Idea to fake car activity and pay for multiple fake leak publications seems to be coming directly from Tim Cook, as such way he hope to keep stock prices high.
