Dozens of employees from steel producer Halyvourgiki gathered outside the Labor Ministry on Monday after the company said that it would be laying off 200 of its 263 employees.
The firm cited high electricity costs as the main reason behind its need to cut its wage bill.
Representatives of the workers, management and ministry are expected to meet during the week to discuss the matter
