  • I've been researching these lenses a lot. Funny thing is, the exact same lenses are offered under Kowa name too!

I managed to get an answer from goyo too a couple weeks ago. their partner in UK is Stemmer Imaging. But the first production isn't even ready yet so I expect late july-august. The 12mm f/2 is the one I'm very interested in and should be very high quality/sharp(160lp/mm (center) ) and uniquely useful. with a lens like this, M4/3 system is complete for me and can compete with 5d2+ 24mm 1.4 combo. As I had predicted, they're not really cheap, but imagine how much pana or leica would charge us for an 12mm f/2? about 3-4 times the price i'd say. And most megapixel manual industrial lenses are extremely high quality like fujinon HF series. they are usually designed to be very sharp edge to edge. Not to mention all metal build quality with non-clicked aperture etc. Only thing I hope is that we will actually be able to somehow buy these lenses in europe not at ridiculous price. I'll be looking very closely.....
  • Let's wait and see. Gotta have a good sharpness at 2.0.
  • Any word on these?
  • Evan better is this... Kowa XC series 4/3 lenses... amazing glass so Ive heard http://www.kowa-europe.com/fa/en/4_3inch_xc_series.php
  • @PerryWilson
check the 2nd post of this thread, it's old news..:) The Kowa design is identical to the Goyo.

Concerning this topic generally, my disappointment is that as expected, these lenses, will remain untested, since they are not easily available to be tested, not in the UK at least. And the price is very prohibitive and there are almost no stores you can find them, I think I found one store in the US that sold the 12mm f/2 for like 1250$, but who is brave enough? noone... it's a petty, as my prediction is that they should be stellar quality and great build too, smooth aperture etc
  • yeah I have known about them for quite some time... but didnt think a new thread needed to be started over them since NO ONE!! can get them
