  • Very interesting. I'm not a fan of GigE, but a thunderbolt version of this to combine with something small, like a NUC, would be very nice.

  • The first announcement of the SVS-Vistek micro-4/3 camera was in September: http://www.vision-systems.com/articles/2012/09/prototype-camera-sports-micro-four-thirds-lens-mount.html The camera prototype have been shown in VISION in Stuttgart (November 2012) and in AUTOMATE 2013 in Chicago (January 2013). The direct link on the company web-page: http://www.svs-vistek.de/de/ibv-komponenten/svs-ibv-kameras-detail.php?ag=5

BTW, there is also another (?) machine vision camera announcement, LUCY-MFT20 and LUCY-MFT40 "which are featuring CMOSIS sensors and support for Micro Four Thirds lenses": http://www.entner-electronics.com/tl/index.php/news-reader/items/vision-2012.html

GigE-Interface is standard for the industrial cameras, which just trails CoaXPress. Faster still is CameraLink, while leading the pack is HSLink. Speed-wise Thunderbolt is comparable to the fastest CoaXPress, while the Thunderbolt has stricter cable length limits.
