BUT also whilst researching some more information on the lens & it's maker Henri Chretien I found this article from Film History magazine.. it shows the close link between Bernard Natan ( of Pathe fame ) and Chretien and via Chretien to the Hubble Space Telescope!! coincidentally a friend of mine is currently in the Pathe-Natan archives working on a doc about the crazy and tragic life of Natan and some of the groundbreaking and little known films done under his guidance.. it's looking really interesting though probably won't go much into Natan's Cinemascope championing. here's some reading:
