Moving to Los Angeles

    Hi all -

    I'm going to be visiting Los Angeles for the next week to decide on whether or not I want to make 'the move.' While I'm in LA I'd love to visit some sets of current productions- are there any listings of what's being shot right now, either in print or online?

    I'm also hoping to connect with anyone who is working on any independent narrative films, or any documentary work, as I'm moving from somewhere that there isn't much of a film community and hoping to find other filmmakers to collaborate with, so if you know of anyone or of any resources, that would be wonderful to know about!

    @csync Good luck on your adventure. I'm sure if you posted a Craigslist about helping out (donating your time) on a production you'd get some (interesting) replies. Maybe one would turn out. Just a thought.

    That's a great idea, and thanks for the well wishes!

    Also- anyone know of a good place to buy gear in LA, either used or new? Lenses, lighting, and used grip gear would be great.
