  • updated the titel

    dont be shy post videos in here if you got any good ones.

  • Nice DIY collection. In the (4th) car-mount video be sure to use water or something along those lines in the Windex bottle, NOT stuff like Windex to apply the suction cups. Using some of these cleaning spray products on your car's bodywork could damage de paint.

  • The Senna All Recall Follow Focus system with a DIY HDMI Wireless Remote Video Stream on the GH3 camera:

  • Holy crap that is noisy as hell!!!! I guess any of these budget wireless FF systems will use cheap servos. No pie and eating it apparently :)

  • @vicharris +1 Ah-men: no pie here, or here:

    (did you want to use a mattebox? lol!)

  • I'm not sure if this belongs here, but here is a project 'Stainless' by Adam Magyar, who took a 1D line-scan camera, modified it, and used it to take pictures of moving things or of stationary things from a moving subway train. Here is rather a fancy description of the project http://medium.com/matter/88aa8a185898 while more examples are in his homepage http://www.magyaradam.com/

  • It's a bit old, almost 3 years, but nevertheless a nice assembly BTS video

  • Here are a few I'm looking into doing:

    RotoRig. Probably not a great shoulder rig, but looks like an excellent jib. Professional looking, too!

    Instructions:

    Best DIY Mattebox I've ever seen:

    Instructions for building can be found here: http://www.ramasolaproductions.com/5.html (Along with a few other DIY projects, including a gearless follow focus, and rail system).

  • Learn how to make a portable variable speed linear dolly / slider motor for shooting timelapse videos that can be used on any slider rig for about $55 AUD. For about $85 AUD you can have a deluxe version with two motors, one for timelapse and another for regular speed shots, USB power and a dedicated 12v battery and charger. Here's a little day trip I did to test the unit out. It rained the entire day, so it wasn't ideal, but you can see that it works!

    For the full parts list, including links, see askdesign.it/weblog/slider. The slider used is an 80cm Konova K2. you'll need an intervalometer - I use Magic Lantern on my 6D, a hack which allows you to do intervalometer shots in-camera, but you can buy a unit off eBay for c. $30. Be sure to get one that can take an infinite number of photographs, many timeout at 99 (4 seconds of footage).

    Shoutout to Style43 (vimeo.com/12120373) and Joakim Fjeldli.

    // Shooting Advice
    1. Have fun!
    2. Put a bit of tension on your sliders bearings and you'll get silky smooth motion, and use fishing line (or any string for that matter) that doesn't have any elasticity or give.
