Here lies the remnants of what was once a workhorse in our department. This Canon 24-70 f2.8 was a good lens. Alas, it has bitten the big bazooka.

Is the only thing wrong with it that you unplugged one of the ribbon cables and unscrewed the camera mount?
Nope.. The screws that mount flange to lens have been ripped / stripped out. Also, flange is cracked, and ribbons have been separated.. Checking on repair costs. Optics appear to be fine, as well as zoom mechanism. Canon will likely charge left nut prices..
