1.75x or 2x anamorphic
  • trying to choose between two anamorphic lenses. 1.75x isco or a sankor 2x lens. leaning more toward the sankor cause of the ease of adding a diopter with a fitler ring. but is the 2x squeeze alittle to much or does it really matter. is the isco that much sharper then the sankor also? any help or feedback would be great

  • Complicated questions. What is the exact name/model of the Isco you refer? In general, anamorphic lenses will vary based on minimum focus, edge to edge sharpness, bokeh rendition, flareablility (MC or non-MC), etc.

After using the taking lens, then comparing with the anamorphic mounted to it, there is a difference in sharpness and/or resolution. Some/most (?) lenses will require you to focus both the taking and anamorphic lens. Have a look at this shoot out, it may help
