Today FLIR announced its third generation FLIR ONE® thermal camera attachment for iOS and Android devices. With an all-new design and the lowest-priced FLIR ONE camera to date $199, it’s an ideal device for those who are new to thermal’s ‘superpowers.’

MSX® Technology

Like previous FLIR ONE models, the third generation includes both a thermal and visible camera. The magic happens through FLIR’s patented, multispectral dynamic imaging, or MSX technology, which embosses a visible image over a thermal. The end-result is a better, crisper image, which helps improve overall quality and readability when you need it most. With the FLIR ONE, you won’t need to guess, you’ll know.

OneFit™ Adjustable Connector

Another key advancement FLIR developed with the third generation FLIR ONE is the new OneFit adjustable-height connector. The OneFit allows you to adjust the length of the FLIR ONE connector so it can attach over most phone cases, eliminating the hassle of removing your case prior to use. The new FLIR ONE also features a USB-C version for Android, so whether you want to take a picture of an object or take a thermal selfie (a ‘thermie’), Android users can flip the camera in the direction they want.

Redesigned FLIR ONE App

Users access their thermal camera through the completely redesigned FLIR ONE app. Featuring a modern app design, users can take, store and send thermal photos and videos. The new app also allows you to easily share your thermal photos and see how other FLIR ONE owners use thermal imaging as well. To further ease the learning curve, the new app also includes guided problem solving modules, allowing you to see examples of household issues the FLIR ONE can help you solve.

Pro

We built the FLIR ONE Pro for serious do-it-yourselfers, contractors, home inspectors and anyone who wants the most power and functionality from their smartphone thermal camera. The FLIR ONE Pro delivers a major advancement in thermal image quality and capabilities available in a smartphone thermal camera. Cost will be $399.

Four Times the Resolution

The new FLIR ONE Pro features our Lepton thermal microcamera, which has four times the resolution of the standard third generation FLIR ONE, and a high-definition visible camera. Combine these with our patented MSX imagery, which embosses a visible image onto a thermal image for crisper images, and new patent-pending video signal processing technology, VividIR™, we create the clearest image ever created on a FLIR ONE.

Pro-Ready Tools

We’ve also packed the FLIR ONE Pro with more tools and capabilities that pro users want in a thermal device. Once attached to a smartphone, the thermal camera is accessible through the completely redesigned FLIR ONE app, but this is where the Pro differs from the standard FLIR ONE. The app automatically recognizes when the FLIR ONE Pro is attached and then offers a host of pro-capable tools including radiometry, or the ability to take accurate temperature measurements, and even multiple temperature spots for situations where pinpointing temperature differences in a scene is critical. After taking an image or video, the FLIR ONE Pro then allows users to analyze image and send reports to their clients at the touch of a button to streamline communications and save time on the job site.
