Too bad CCD is being abandoned. CMOS has a lot going for it, but for photography I still feel some of the compacts with large CCD sensors were absolute gems. I keep a small stack of fujifilm e900's and fujifilm f11 and f30/f31 - if one breaks I have a back up. Have tried many recent compacts, and always end up selling them and sticking to the older CCD compacts. They don't have all the bells and whistles of newer cameras, but for pure IQ they still punch above their weight.
