mSata for desktops

I noticed that mSata is considerably cheaper than SSD of similar specs and capacity. Is there any reson not to use them as a source drive for a video workstation? How to mount? Are there adapters? Would the USB3 speeddrives from Video Devices be fast enough?

As I understand different standards exist, ones are SATA based and modern connectors use PCI-E interface.
Best idea can be just use suitable motherboard.
