About half in US just barely get by or are poor. This is in contrast to politicians talking about a "strong middle class" and Oprah doing shows where supposedly average women are all buying special scented soaps, snazzy towels, and many other nice things for the house. Reality is median household income is $51,000. Adding up all taxes yields $17,000 to $25,000 in taxes depending on how you calculate. Assuming $20,000 in tax, that leaves $31,000...or $2583/month for a family of four. That's a tight budget. Not quite what's presented by media and politicians. (Of course many countries significantly worse.)
I'm sure many are aware of this, but thought many may not be, so here it is. Well anyway, guess my GH2 can be considered luxury now.
