Viltrox electronic focal reducer vs. Zhongyi Lens Turbo II Comparison https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/17137/viltrox-electronic-focal-reducer-vs.-zhongyi-lens-turbo-ii-comparison Tue, 13 Jun 2017 07:59:46 +0000 fatpig 17137@/talks/discussions Viltrox came out with the first cheap electronic focal reducer. I got it because I'd like to use some Canon lenses that have no aperture ring. Sadly, corners are not quite as sharp and there is a little more bulging. Also, inside the adapter is less space because of electronics, and some vintage lenses wont fit without cutting protruding pins.

The new Zhongyi Mitakon 42.5mm f/1.2 Lens features an incredibly fast aperture of f/1.2, making it ideally suited for low-light conditions shooting, greater control over selective focus and shallow depth of field imagery. Designed for the use with an APS-C-sized camera sensor, the lens gives a 35mm-equivalent focal length of nearly 64mm. Above features provide an excellent portrait shooting solution for mirrorless cameras users. The lens also houses with 7 elements in 9 groups of optical lenses to provide great deal of image clarity and color renderness.

The new Zhongyi Mitakon 24mm f/1.7 Lens is a fast prime wide-angle lens that provides a 35mm-equivalent focal length of 35mm, making it ideally suited for everyday shooting applications. The fast f/1.7 maximum aperture benefits working in low-light conditions and also avails greater control over the focus position for shallow depth of field and selective focus techniques. The 0.15m ultra close minimum focus distance benefit users in image composition. The lens incorporates 9 elements in 8 groups with ED lenses in order to minimize chromatic aberrations for greater clarity and color accuracy. The compact size (55mm x 61.5mm) and light-weight (246g) of the lens also make it perfect for mirrorless camera users.

Mitakon VS JR Speed Boosters https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/13677/mitakon-vs-jr-speed-boosters Tue, 08 Sep 2015 08:45:12 +0000 mat27k 13677@/talks/discussions Hi guys, i'm a GH4 owner. I read both threads about Mitakon and RJ speed booster but i still can't decide which one is better.

It seems both suffer of blue dot. It seems Mitakon is sharper in the center and blurrer in the corners but RJ is less sharper than Mita in the center but it is more sharp in the overall. I read Mitakon has some color issues Mitakon is a bit more expensive than JR and built quality seems to be better than JR. I'm also worried because Mitakon has another Speed booster in the second version of the product and EF-MFT speedbooster is just in the first version. Should I wait? How much better is the second version compared with the first one?

I'm quite confused about this two Speed Boosters. I'm going to use it mainly with a Kiron Kino Precision 28mm f2 and a Helios 44-2 58mm f2

Please, could you give me your impressions and final thoughts about this two lenses?

Thanks in advance

I need some help understanding the Speedbooster for M43 https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12168/i-need-some-help-understanding-the-speedbooster-for-m43 Tue, 13 Jan 2015 17:44:59 +0000 magellan14 12168@/talks/discussions I have a Panasonic GH3 and am considering the Mitakon Lens Turbo for M43 to Canon EOS EF. I understand this adapter gives an extra stop of light and allows me to use 35mm glass. My question is, how do I determine what the f-stop will be and focal length of a full frame lens once equipped with the lens turbo? For example, if I attach a Canon 50mm f1.4, would the focal length still be 50mm and the f-stop still 1.4 - or would it be less?

I appreciate your help,

Fotodiox, Excell, Lens Turbo analogs for m43 and NEX https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/7356/fotodiox-excell-lens-turbo-analogs-for-m43-and-nex Wed, 26 Jun 2013 01:57:22 +0000 Vitaliy_Kiselev 7356@/talks/discussions image

The Vizelex Light Cannon from Fotodiox Pro is an advanced lens mount adapter that not only attaches a Nikon Lens (including G & D type) to a Micro 4/3 (MFT) camera body, but has added light focusing optics which makes the lens wider by a 0.72x factor and increases the maximum aperture of the lens by 1 stop. This effectively allows use of your 35mm lenses on a crop sensor camera and not lose the angle of view normally associated with lens mount adapters (ie, 50mm lens stays roughly a 50mm lens equivalent).

Additionally, this light focusing optic gives a faster than normal aperture, turning a f/2.8 into the equivalent of a f/2.0; perfect for shooting in low light situations, when you need a faster shutter speed, or want a lower ISO sensitivity! The blue dial on the adapter is an aperture adjustment dial which allows the iris to be adjusted on even the Nikon G & D lenses; on older Nikon lenses with a aperture dial on the lens, the blue dial on the adapter can act as a depth of field preview lever allowing you to switch back and forth between wide open and stopped down to a certain f-stop.

As with all Fotodiox Pro series adapters, these adapters have been specially crafted to endure professional use. The leaf spring design in the adapter holds the lens tight to the camera body ensuring there is no play between the camera and the lens. The all metal design and polished surface is designed to guarantee a smooth mounting and long lasting experience. With unique styling, the lens mount adapter maintains a professional appearance. Although the lens will fit physically, automatic diaphragm, auto-focusing, or any other functions will not operate correctly while using this adapter. Because of this “stop-down mode” will need to be used when metering since the lens does not have the ability to have its aperture controlled by the camera body. You can shoot with manual mode or aperture priority mode. Infinity focusing is guaranteed

  • Crop Factor Gain 0.72x
