Macro-blocking on AVCHD but not on MJPEG ?

Hi, I've discovered that there was Macro-blocking on AVCHD 24p video (even when transcoded with 5d2RGB), but not with MJPEG ! I was using the 'Apocalypse now Cluster v7 DREWNET 444 Soft Matrix' (MJPEG 2k and changed 30p to 24p with ptools).

How do I get rid of it ?

Hacks and SD cards

Hi, I have been hacking my GH2's for a while now, trying different cards and hacks but it always comes up saying that the camera cannot record due to the limitations of the writing speed of the card!! I am now trying both the vanilla 44 hack and undefined 88 hacks with sandisc extreme cards but this same message always comes up and the camera wont record for more that 30s. Just wondering if anyone has any suggestions.

The First of Two Films in my 'Hometown' Series

Hi, All! I had posted a week or so back about some art gallery bound films of mine that I was projecting this past weekend. Here is the first of two films in the series. This one is maybe a month old, and was in a show then at Bethel University in their Johnson Gallery. I displayed it on my Dell U3011 which I built into the wall just for the show along with a laptop for playback. It is not really made with web viewing in mind, it supposed to be viewed in an art gallery, but some folks here on the forum expressed interest in seeing my work, so I uploaded it to share with the community.

I shot it all on GH2 with @Driftwood Moon Trial 5. I used a Kowa 16-H with Redstan clamps and a Lightcraft Workshop Fader ND Mark II, mounted on a Konica Hexanon 40mm f1.8, usually stopped down to f2.8 or even f4.

This is the first, and has certain things that make it very successful in terms of capturing my concept for the project. But technically, I think I prefer the second film even though it is simpler in some ways.

I hope you enjoy it, and I hope it is of some use. Feedback and questions are of course welcome! (Note: I'm going to go ahead and post this, but Vimeo might initially be still in the process of converting the clip.)

I'm not sure what the technical term is for it but, sometimes when underexposed on my GH2 I get this ugly green and red colour come through, what is this and is it fixable?

GH2 Hack and SD Card

So I am currently using a SanDisk Ultra 30mb/s 32GB card and using the Apocalypse Now hack... everything seems to be fine and I can record for a while, I'm fine with how much footage I'm filming but I'm curious... is the video quality effected by my SD card? if I say, upgraded to a SanDisk 95mb/s 32GB would the quality be better or would it just allow me to record for longer? Sorry for the noob question hope someone can help me out.

Possible to disable video recording start/stop on GH2 main shutter button?

Is it possible to disable the stop/start video recording function of the GH2's main shutter button? When I'm shooting video, I'd like to use that button just to change focus while filming. But it's so sensitive -- if I press just the tiniest bit too hard the camera stops recording rather than just refocusing. (I do practice, but still end up missing shots.)

I am hoping that I just missed a setting somewhere and that it's possible to set it up so that the red video button handles the stop/start, and the main shutter button does focus only. It wouldn't be the first time I've been confounded and confused by the settings!

GH2 hacks 60p bitrate higher than 60 mbs possible?

Hey, just wondering if anyone has been able to get the bitrate in 60p mode to ever run above 60 mbs and if so, was it also with a 24p bitrate above 80 mbs. Would like a higher bitrate in 60p but even with manual Q values as low as 6 and bitrate settings around 80-90 can't get encoder to run higher than 55-60....

Any sign of not expressing your personal view, but blatant AF100 marketing compain, that is strongly going on few leading sites, will be eliminated.
Reason?
Panasonic thrown unprecedented amount of money on AF100 marketing. And it is long known for heavy forums usage.

For a Hacked GH2, Is a recording limit of 3 minutes 57 seconds normal if recording limit is left on?

I just hacked my GH2 for the first time with Canis Majoris Day. I forgot to check the recording time limit box in, and the camera now only records for 3 mins 57 seconds. Is this simply because of the high bitrate? It's not even something I mind, since I used to do a lot of work on film and each roll would last less than that. I'm asking just to make sure there's nothing wrong. It's the first time I've done this.

Strange marks on video - Damaged Sensor?

So a mark/blotch has appeared on my videos recently! I think it happened after a lens change and there was some dust/dirt on the sensor as well which was visible with a loupe. However the mark in question doesn't seem to be visible when looking at the sensor?! It is present when using different lenses/no lens even It moves in ex-tele mode (to a position which would seem to correlate with the sensor crop of that mode) If I shoot a scene which has an over exposed section it will disappear as I move the camera to place the mark onto the over exposed area- i.e. no present when over exposed

I have tried a blower to remove the dust and also swabbed the sensor with a cleaning kit which removed all the dust etc. but this mark remains!!!

So what does it look like to you and has anyone encountered something similar?

Looking for moderate GH2 Hack nothing too crazy

hi, I am looking to a moderate hack for my GH2 where everything works. Right now I am using moon Trial 5 and It’s very nice but i don’t need all that

Basically I am looking for something that offers an improvement in bitrate over stock say to around 45-60Mbps max in all modes and stable in all features like iA, the tele mode, etc….

I can always use ptools and crank up the bitrate but without much expert knowledge I am not sure if just doing that alone would be the right approach.

Please let me know if you have come across a nice stable patch that wold fir the bill...i was using EOSHD but that always crashed.
