What Fluid Head is this!?!? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/14141/what-fluid-head-is-this Wed, 02 Dec 2015 01:37:07 +0000 fotosiamo 14141@/talks/discussions So my friend bought a Davis & Sanford 7518 tripod recently off Amazon, but instead of getting the popular FM18, she got a V18 fluid head, a model I've never seen before and can't even find any info on Google, Amazon, or B&H.

Anyone heard of this? Someone said that it's a rebadged fluid head, but he doesn't know which one. It does seem smoother than the FM18, though.

Libec RS-250R Tripod Package. Excellent Condition. https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/12827/libec-rs-250r-tripod-package.-excellent-condition. Sun, 19 Apr 2015 00:23:33 +0000 cinetim 12827@/talks/discussions I picked this up at Adorama a year and a half ago. It's only been out about six or seven times so it's in excellent condition. I've since sold my DSLR and no longer need the Libec. It's unbelievably smooth, like a mini O'Connor. 75mm ball head, 2 stage pan/tilt, spreader, softcase, and can handle up to 13lbs. Perfect for DSLR's, A7s, BMC, etc. Once you tried a Libec, you'll sell your Manfrotto or Cartoni Focus.

http://www.bhphotovideo.com/…/Libec_rs_250r_LX5_Tripod_With…

I paid 859.00 for this package new. I'm willing to sell it for 600.00 obo.

I live in Brooklyn so I prefer NYC buyers. Otherwise, add shipping and handling to the price. I do not except Paypal - Only check, money order, cash, Chase Quick Pay, or Wire Xfer.

FS: Vintage O'Connor 50D Fluid Head w/ Gitzo Tripod https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11456/fs-vintage-oconnor-50d-fluid-head-w-gitzo-tripod Tue, 30 Sep 2014 15:30:29 +0000 fosterchen 11456@/talks/discussions Built like a tank, and can handle broadcast ENG and cinema cameras with ease.

Don't know too much about it's specs, but I do know O'Connor fluid heads are legendary!

Pan and tilts fine, has a bit of a squeak when panning. Should be able to fix with some lubing.

Gitzo tripod has a ball head with 3/8" mount. Also works fine, just old.

Pictures show actual item.

$400 OBO.

Connecting Manfrotto MVH500A/AH fluid head and MT190XPRO4 tripod https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10569/connecting-manfrotto-mvh500aah-fluid-head-and-mt190xpro4-tripod Mon, 09 Jun 2014 14:09:51 +0000 PeterParkorr 10569@/talks/discussions I bought both of these items (the head with half bowl) and they both have a male 3/8" connector...

Not sure how they should attach? The Manfrotto video tripod legs (755XB) also have the same 3/8" attachment I think so unless it is female (and it doesn't look to be), am I missing something?

I thought the half bowl itself would have movement to allow me to level my camera without adjusting tripod legs, but it was rigid so I've reboxed it and returning for the flat base fluid head instead. I guess the flat base means a female 3/8" connector?

Only problem then being I need everything ready for Friday!!

Manfrotto Professional Video Tripod, 501HDV , 525MVB For Sale https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8224/manfrotto-professional-video-tripod-501hdv-525mvb-for-sale Tue, 24 Sep 2013 21:52:46 +0000 vicharris 8224@/talks/discussions I'm sure I don't need to explain this little guy. Bought it brand new about 9 months or so ago, then bought a 504HD setup right after so it's been used once. Can't get much newer than this. Selling all my other tripods so I can upgrade. I have it up on other sites for $475 but I'll sell it for $400 here plus shipping.

I'll take some new pics of it if anyone is interested.

Manfrotto MH055M8 Fluid Video/Photo Head https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3720/manfrotto-mh055m8-fluid-videophoto-head Fri, 29 Jun 2012 02:05:45 +0000 sam_rides_a_mtb 3720@/talks/discussions Still using my old Bogen/Manfrotto 3130 Head and as I have a rig on the way, I am realizing I am going to need some counter balance. Love my 3130 - smooth and portable, though been looking at the 502HD and the MH055. I like that the MH055 can handle up to 15 pounds (7kg), has 3-axis adjustment (for stills) and weighs just over a kilo (same as my 3130). The 502 only supports up to 8.8 pounds (roughly 4kg) and weighs a bit more. Granted the MH055 costs about $60 more, is there any reason the 502HD would be better? One feature I am not thrilled about on the MH055 is that you need to use a coin to adjust the pan handle angle - could probably swap it to a thumb screw, though. Looking at this video (specifically at 4:36), the counter balance setup looks pretty easy (and effective):

Anyone using this hybrid head?

GH2 - Motion Fluidity (360º shutter) test on slow shutter speeds. https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2396/gh2-motion-fluidity-360%C2%BA-shutter-test-on-slow-shutter-speeds. Fri, 24 Feb 2012 23:26:23 +0000 duartix 2396@/talks/discussions Having spent some time developing a settings package for timelapses, and having noticed how most of the times motion doesn't seem 100% FLUID at 2fps, I have found the urge and need to test it on 1080p modes in order to see which setting better fits this particular kind of footage.

For that I focused the camera on a strong light, started recording and then I quickly panned the camera horizontally on the tripod while varying the shutter speed. Then I looked at consecutive frames and measured the light interruption (measures.jpg) and computed the fluidity normalizing it as a percentage of the average segment length.

The results are in the attachment (MotionFlow.zip) which is also shown as a screenshot (MotionFlow.PNG). They are approximations as the values can have some variation, but will clearly show you which are the good ones and the others to avoid at all cost.

The resulting videos can also be downloaded (they are very small) from here: http://www.mediafire.com/?ezz6zroqcronq28,ova2axx3qjev573,ca6o3g4cjhx46lc

As you can see, HBR 25p easily beats all other 1080p modes with no less than 5 100% FLUID motion shutter speeds, 4 of them very useful indeed. Now it's time to perform some tests to see (subjectively of course) how much we can notice it and how high can we tolerate the interruption before the motion flow stops looking natural.

(EDIT) The ideal patch GOPs should be useful in this thread. Here they are:
