DIY experts help. Is the axes system it comes with toy cars, garden cars and another work cars. I put some yellow arrows on the piece or two component parts, they make the wheels can turn on.

My idea is my dolly car can make circular movement so. But I dont get on amazon and ebay, it comes. I think may be Im "lost in translation", i write "axi for gorilla cart", ""axi for trolley cart" etc and the result is the car. Some idea?

Thank you.

Dolly recommendations? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3257/dolly-recommendations Fri, 18 May 2012 12:05:33 +0000 sdbest 3257@/talks/discussions I'm in the market for a dolly system costing < $2,500 for a feature (see http://savingdinah.com). We're using a GH2 in a cage for most of the shots, but also a Sony EX1. There's a number of products available from Kessler Flex Track, Indie Dolly Systems, Merlin Video which fit the budget. A flex track system seems a good way to go.

So, looking for recommendations from folks who might have some experience with the products on the market.

Thanks.

Varavon Slidecam S https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3302/varavon-slidecam-s Tue, 22 May 2012 11:07:05 +0000 Nayche 3302@/talks/discussions I just received my Varavon Slidecam S (from a deal on PV) and did some testing last night with a Manfrotto 501 head.

http://www.personal-view.com/deals/sliders/varavon-sliders#varavon-heavy-sliders-slidecam-s

The sliding seemed to be pretty smooth, though it will still take some practice on my part. The build quality is very good, and it's definitely nice to have a bag.

One small concern is that I wasn't able to securely tighten my 501 head to the slider. There was still side to side movement. This is likely related to the design of the bottom of the head, which is not smooth, but I wonder:

A) If anyone has experienced the same thing and solved it with rubber, cork, or something else.

B) If anyone would recommend a different head, more suitable for this slider and a GH2.

Thanks for any input.

La Salle de Classe - GH2 + Dolly Test (Driftwood) https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5056/la-salle-de-classe-gh2-dolly-test-driftwood Wed, 31 Oct 2012 15:19:48 +0000 brettplank 5056@/talks/discussions

I managed to use my school's dolly to pull off some test shots for smooth camera movements. Take note that I used and controlled everything singularly: I pulled focus, performed pans, and physically pushed the dolly itself. It was difficult, but I managed to get some usable footage. With one or two extra grips I can easily pull off great looking, smooth shots. I'll be shooting more with the dolly this week. I like grain.

  • GH2 w/ Driftwood Hack
  • Canon FD 50mm f/1.4
  • Sigma 30mm f/1.4
  • 16mm grain overlay

Shot a photographer...made my day : ) https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3495/shot-a-photographer...made-my-day- Thu, 07 Jun 2012 13:59:01 +0000 pchristoph 3495@/talks/discussions
I was approached by a photographer here on Vancouver Island, Canada to make a short film about her and her business. This was a tough one for me as most photographers I know lean towards controlling scenes and directing action and so I was hesitant as my approach is very much hands off, documentary-style...but, she immediately said that she was giving me the reins to produce something that was honest and real about who she was. Erin told me later on that she was quite stressed after filming because she was used to seeing her results immediately and having to wait and leave it to me to edit her film was a new experience, but, she trusted me. I really valued that trust. Its something that you start building from your first client film, and it has introduced me to some great projects and people this year. So, having spent some time studying Erins photography style and the look of her photos I knew how I wanted to form the look of her film and I also knew how to mix her personality and her story into it to make what I feel is an honest film about a real photographer doing great things for people. I felt lucky to have been able to work with Erin and create the exact kind of photographer film we both wanted.

Can't say enough thanks to Vitaliy and the entire community here for its valued support, encouragement, and enhanced camera settings contributions and testing. It's great to be a small part of it by sharing some of my work done with the GH2. Cheers.

Filmed on GH2 over two days, Sedna A and Canis Majoris 'skin' settings from Driftwood. Steadycam Merlin (in some crazy wind), Kessler Pocket Dolly, manfrotto 561 monopod, s.takumar lenses (50,55,135), Tamron 17-50 non vc, Panasonic 14-140, Tota w/silver umbrella for interiors. Not your average DIY dollie, trolly, or slider https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2365/not-your-average-diy-dollie-trolly-or-slider Wed, 22 Feb 2012 08:11:09 +0000 Brian202020 2365@/talks/discussions I made this several days ago for a low budget short so I thought I'd share. It's very heavy duty, and can support a fully loaded RED ONE with ease. I used it with a fully loaded AF100 with a Hyperdeck Shuttle, rods, mattebox, FF, SmallHD, etc. It might be overkill for a GH2 tho. I accidentally tightened the two halve together too much and got flat spots in the wheels, so I'm in the process of replacing them as well as a few more little modifications. I'm not super happy with the rail design on the ends, but I needed something quick for the shoot. I'll probably update that at some point as well.
