For sale: SLR Magic cine 50mm T0.95 (based in Germany) https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9675/for-sale-slr-magic-cine-50mm-t0.95-based-in-germany Thu, 20 Feb 2014 08:59:19 +0000 Tobsen 9675@/talks/discussions Hello,

I am considering to sell my great SLR Magic cine 50mm T0.95 (non RF coupled) in leica M mount. It is super sharp even wide open! Perfect if you own other SLR Magic lenses to complete a matched set. I used it only occacionally on private projects. It is basically in a new condition. It DOES have some tiny dust particles inside that were there even when it was brand new, but they don't affect the picture quality at all.

I am not giving it away for cheap, because it is a great lens. I still feel bad about selling it, but I need mone for other investments.Sadly.

I am asking 2000 Euro ecl. shipping for it. Official Sales price in Europe is 2399 pounds! Compared to the prices at SLR MAgic UK and other places, this is a bargain.

It will also include a 62mm Hoya UV FIlter. It doesn't come with original Box.

Here are some pics:

50mm F1.4 Zeiss Planar https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2806/50mm-f1.4-zeiss-planar Sat, 07 Apr 2012 20:13:48 +0000 digger 2806@/talks/discussions I have the Zeiss C/Y Mount 85mm f/1.4 from West Germany (with the ninja blade bokeh) and love it; it's probably the best lens I own. I'm deciding on the 50mm f/1.4 and want to know if there is much difference between the C/Y mount and recent ZF. The C/Y is much cheaper and if I'm using it mainly for the GH2 (or even on the 5D) why spend the extra money? Unless it's a better lens for some reason.

ND filters vs high shutter in ext. shots https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6940/nd-filters-vs-high-shutter-in-ext.-shots Sat, 11 May 2013 10:53:46 +0000 AlbertZ 6940@/talks/discussions I' m fond of mid-60's film with B/N , close shot and shallow DOF...every time I want to shoot something referring to this style, I generally use ND filter in ext. shots. However, yesterday I have left my ND and I was forced to shoot with my GH1 using HIGH SHUTTER and WIDE Aperture (50mm 1.7/ 2.8) with sunlight -about 5 PM, Italy is a very sunny land;)..I was struck by the results: they were closer to the 60's aesthetic than my shots with ND filter...I was wandering if high shutter was employed in cinema in the 60's...or shutter HAS ALWAYS EVER BEEN 50?

Just wondering if anyone has experience, or indeed just opinions about this lens for video use ? Weighing up the pros and cons of this vis a vis the Panasonic 35-100 f2.8. No IS on the Oly, but greater reach and under half the price, but also heavier. Cheers

La Salle de Classe - GH2 + Dolly Test (Driftwood) https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5056/la-salle-de-classe-gh2-dolly-test-driftwood Wed, 31 Oct 2012 15:19:48 +0000 brettplank 5056@/talks/discussions

I managed to use my school's dolly to pull off some test shots for smooth camera movements. Take note that I used and controlled everything singularly: I pulled focus, performed pans, and physically pushed the dolly itself. It was difficult, but I managed to get some usable footage. With one or two extra grips I can easily pull off great looking, smooth shots. I'll be shooting more with the dolly this week. I like grain.

  • Canon FD 50mm f/1.4
  • Sigma 30mm f/1.4

They are Carl Zeiss lenses in C/Y Mount. They work great for any kind of photography and video HDSLR work.

They are calibrated, have hard infinity stops and very smooth manual focus rings. The lenses are optically and cosmetically in amazing condition with no defects. There is no give whatsoever in the focus and it is silky smooth as should be. Please see the photographs. They can be used with just about any camera with the adapter. I do have some adapters for canon and m4/3.

I am in Europe (Ireland), shipping any where is no problem. I'm looking for E300 each, buyer pays postage and pay pal. Any questions please ask.image

50 mm in academy ratio - Hitchcock / Ozu with a GH2 https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3628/50-mm-in-academy-ratio-hitchcock-ozu-with-a-gh2 Tue, 19 Jun 2012 08:37:33 +0000 AlbertZ 3628@/talks/discussions You know that lots of masterpieces had been shooted only with a "normal" lens: just think of Hitchcock's Psycho or Ozu's film. I am "studying" Ozu's films realized using only a 50mm; many people believe it's necessary to get a 25 mm on GH2 (due to crop factor) in order to emulate Ozu's look , however I've found this discussion on the net:

50 in academy ratio is actually what a 50 on a GH2 would give... Or almost. A GH2 is the same size as academy matted to 1.78:1 (so horizontally and DoF characteristics are the same, but different vertically). Speaking of which... Hitchcock used a 50 almost exclusively in the 50s and 60s, so a 50 on a GH2 is more or less identical to what you'd get in Psycho.

I feel a bit confused...should I get a 50mm or a 25 mm?

Canon FD 50mm 1.4 - how to convert into macro? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3696/canon-fd-50mm-1.4-how-to-convert-into-macro Tue, 26 Jun 2012 15:52:18 +0000 diptwo 3696@/talks/discussions Just recently I started collecting equipment, skill and knowledge about my newly purchased GH2. Im very new to pic/video world and would highly appreciate any help, recommendations, and advice. I dont have the terms and definitions covered so please correct me in anything that im doing wrong. Yesterday I bought a Canon FD 50mm 1.4 lens ( the crop factor made it even more confusing but im not going to go into it since this thread is about the lens and macro) and i was wondering if there is a way (Ive came across tubes) to make this a macro lens. Ive read a bunch of posts and threads all over the web and it im still not certain about how to approach my next purchase so i thought ill turn to the professionals for help.

1.4 seems the fastest that shows circular bokeh. What's your favorite 1.4 lens for bokeh?]]>
