Shot it 1080 but uploaded at 720 since most people who watch this aren't going to blow it up to full screen and pixel peep like we do! :) It was a fun little project and I know where the weak spots are. Damn you LCW ND filter and rolling shutter!!!! Anyways, hope you like it.

GH2 & SLR Magic 12mm 1.6 (Both Barely Used) https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/4378/gh2-slr-magic-12mm-1.6-both-barely-used Sun, 26 Aug 2012 17:51:06 +0000 mikethelaw 4378@/talks/discussions Making way for my new Blackmagic Cinema Camera, selling my GH2 package, including SLR Magic 12mm. I bought everything in May & June of this year. Original invoices from B&H and Adorama to prove it. Barely used everything.

Let me know if you're interested. Thanks!

Panasonic GH2 in Original Box w/ Sandisc 64gb Extreme Pro, 95MB Read Speed and Sandisc 32gb Extreme Pro, 95MB Read Speed & .......$750 (plus shipping cost)

SLR Magic 12mm 1.6........$450 (plus shipping cost)

If you don't want the Sandisc Extreme Pro cards (the 64gb is the best SD card on the market that I know of) I can sell the GH2 for $650, but I'll sell the gh2 and the 2 memory cards for $750. I think the 64gb 95MB card sells for $135-$160 new and the 32gb sells for $70.

If you want the GH2, SLR Magic 12mm and the cards together I'll sell it all for $1,100...

PM if interested.

SLR Magic 12mm - MUST.HAVE.HOOD! https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3887/slr-magic-12mm-must.have.hood Fri, 13 Jul 2012 01:46:29 +0000 jdert 3887@/talks/discussions Desperately seeking advice for a hood option for this lens. Searches yield no results, other than I need a 58-77mm step up ring to do this without vignetting. I can't be alone in this issue! I am constantly battling flares and lighting artifacts whenever the sun hits it. This is my glidecam lens and its becoming very problematic to shoot with. For instance, my T2i glidecam setup had a 17-50mm and has zero issues with flares. Is this more than a hood issue, could it be a lens coating issue?

Selling Voigtlander 25mm/0.95 and SLR Magic 12mm/1.6 https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/3555/selling-voigtlander-25mm0.95-and-slr-magic-12mm1.6 Tue, 12 Jun 2012 02:24:00 +0000 sohus 3555@/talks/discussions I am selling my Voigtlander 25mm/0.95 and SLR Magic 12mm/1.6. I love them but I am planning to get Panasonic/Olympus lenses, possibly with zoom because that suits my style (documentary) better. They are boot in 'as new' state and I still have the warranty certificates (2 year in Europe, both are less than a year old). I can ship them anywhere but probably the most interesting when you are in Europe. I accept PayPal payments or bank transfer.

Other gear I am selling: - Sekonic L758Cine lightmeter - Swit S2000 LED videolight with Anton Bauer Powertap

Get in touch with me about pricing.

A wide dilema (with added cashback for UK folks) https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2682/a-wide-dilema-with-added-cashback-for-uk-folks- Sun, 25 Mar 2012 06:16:05 +0000 matthere 2682@/talks/discussions I have had the 12mm 1.6 on order from fotokonijnenberg since mid January, thinking that it may arrive by April 3rd when I'm off to California for a bit of a road trip, now they tell me delivery is due mid April! So anyway I am looking for a wide lens, thought about the upcoming Panasonic wide adapter.. that is also now April release.. (you can see a theme here!) So the Olympus 12mm f2 has been on my radar for a while.. except for the price.. but when looking more closely Olympus has a deal on at the mo in the UK.. can get £185 cash back for the 12mm and also Amazon offers another £30 voucher with the 12mm f2 which means £390 / $620 aprox.

Now I really do like the look of the 12mm 1.6 (flare I could get used to) and I like the 12mm f2 apart from the fact that it is so very sharp.. I like the rendering of fd lenses through my experiments. I just wondered about other's experiences with either the 12mm (f2 or 1.6) or other alternative wide options? Has anyone tried the 12mm f2 with Sedna C or blackmist?

Interested in any wide thoughts :)

UK users maybe interested in the olympus cash back deals on lenses and cameras: http://g-ecx.images-amazon.com/images/G/02/uk-electronics/shops/olympus/PEN_Lens_Accessory_Cashback_Mar12.V138174725.pdf

PS. The 45mm 1.8 is currently £260 with £70 back! - Not affiliated in any way.

UPDATE - On closer inspection the cashback for lenses is only if you've bought a camera... Back to the drawing board! Still interested in peoples thoughts on wide angle for the GH2 :)

I've been looking for this fantastic lense for while. As I live in Germany it seem to be pretty difficult to purchase it here. Id also go for international purchases, just need a proper platform or dealer.

Can anyone help? Help would be much appreciated.

Pancake 20mm f1.7 vs SLR Magic 12mm f1.6? https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2089/pancake-20mm-f1.7-vs-slr-magic-12mm-f1.6 Sun, 22 Jan 2012 10:46:38 +0000 Manu4Vendetta 2089@/talks/discussions People, I would like to have these two lenses, but the budget would allow me to have only one for now.

Both seems good glasses, the main use is video and film, photography as secundary, The examples indicate both are greats and cinematographic look. So, i like much use mi GH2 in the night, the luminosity is therefore a necessary condition for my.

Some people say the Panix is best, and argue the SLR is a CCTV overpriced, that argument isnt mine, so, for the tests, I think the SLR is wonderful and the price isnt excessive.

Actually I have a 14-42 its a regular lens, but is poor in low light condition and noisy in high ISO. A FD 50mm 1.8, superb, great look and softness, but have a limited angles.

I need objective opinions, thanks

12mm f2.0 m4/3 Zuiko : Snapshot Focus https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/322/12mm-f2.0-m43-zuiko-snapshot-focus Sun, 03 Jul 2011 08:03:45 +0000 lenuisible 322@/talks/discussions

"Olympus's take on the concept is to deliver a premium quality, large maximum aperture lens that becomes the first in the system to feature 'snap focus', a system by which the focus ring can be pulled back, engaging a modified manual focus mode. In this mode the lens is designed to feel much more like a conventional mechanically-operated manual focus lens, rather than the usual focus-by-wire behavior.

There are four major differences between 'snap focus' and conventional manual focus mode. Firstly, the relationship between the focus ring movement and the movement of the focusing elements is fixed - rather than being speed-sensitive. This direct relationship allows the focusing ring's movement to be stopped at either end of the focus travel which, in turn, has allowed Olympus to add proper distance and depth-of-field scales to the lens. The final difference you'll notice in snap focus mode is that the damping of the ring's movement has been modified to provide a little more resistance and more 'feel.' Such engineering touches don't come cheap, of course, but really do help make the lens feel like a high-end manual focus optic. Right up until you decide you want to re-engage the super-fast autofocus."
