Smartphone rear cameras in 2021

Considering nobody needs above about 10MP resolution for computer or A3 prints, I guess this mega resolution is deemed necessary for digital zooming. It makes some sense, I guess.

It also helps with noise reduction.
Modern trend is not just filter out noise but to try to replace high frequency details with AI :-)
