Few TV story principles.
Core principle. If possible, TV story must shock viewers. At least, it must catch viewer, lure him, to get his attention and hold this attention during all story. To achieve this media will sacrifice everything - bend facts and data presented in story, cut lines specially to make them sound like their opposite, break any promises made to the people they shot in story, even fuck basic and known to them truth.
Second principle. Reporter is not specialist or professional in the questions covered in story, so he thinks that it is fully ok with not spending too much time trying to understand in detail covered facts and questions. So, reporter is fully ok if his opinion in the story will be based on channel policy, his personal views as ordinary man, but usually it is not even remotely related to true matter of things and contradict with facts.
First protection principle. Any negative in story must not be real for people who watch story (at least they try to make it as much as possible). Viewer must not feel complicity to all this shit he see on screen. To make it happen media like to twist, move or exaggerate things. Something that is very far and with negative is ok. Something not far but with exaggerated negative also ok (makes you feel like it is unreal). But media always try to make so people you shot in story won't make connection with viewer. So, they select either big tragedy with focus on emotions without facts while keeping big scale of coverage, or turn all into horror films (piles or corpses in mass graves, etc).
Second protection principle. Story must never ever produce any real(!) feeling that something is wrong with system processes or viewer way of life (or if something could be wrong with life or system in the future). Viewer must be left in comfortable state. Any negative story must leave him feel - "it is unusual shit, will be fixed by system very soon, all is ok, all prospects is ok, they know that they are doing", and positive story must make "system or good people allowed it to happen. all people are equal and have same opportunities as me. cool. it is clear, no need to use brains. need to eat and sleep. "
