Looks like DJI is about to launch a direct competitor to the new micro wireless mics now available (like the Hollyland Lark M2).
A new DJI Mic Mini appears to have been registered.
The DJI Mic Mini is getting ready for release. Black and White editions.
There has not been a leak of a possible receiver.
A transmitter stand alone kit will work with Action 4/5, Pocket 3 and phones I would guess.
Reduced size might remove internal recording options and perhaps the noise reduction as well compared to the Mic2. Perhaps also the external mic jack.
Finally the Mic Mini kit with receiver and charging box.
The battle of the wireless mini mics
This week Røde presented their new Wirelss Micro mic and beat the new DJI Mini Mic with a few days.
A couple of differences: DJI can connect straight to your phone (as well as the Pocket 3 and Action 4/5 I would pressume) thanks to the bluetooth option which Røde has not. However if you need two mic transmitters to your phone the Røde Wireless Micro seems like a nicer option because the receiver is much slimmer and smaller.
This is mainly possible by omitting the audio out jack as well as any big buttons on the device. So the Mic 2 receiver is more versatile, but size and bulk suffers. So mainly the mics are slim with the DJI solution here.
But how long was the user in paradise? The new DJI Mic Mini charging case seems to have room also for the dead cats attached to the mic, while the slim line case for the Wireless Micro appears to have not. And the way Røde designed their Micro deadcats they take up more space as well. So sexy charging box is not so sexy after all with the additional carry on.
And the Røde Wireless Micro is a complete package as i needs the receiver regardless. But the DJI Mic Mini you can buy only the transmitter mic separately for your phone or DJI action cams.

DJI MIc Mini has yet to be officially released.
