    In ordinary simple office use of notebooks things are not good - constant Windows updates, useless antiviral runs, user tracking logs and browser cache are responsible for up to 80% of all SSD wearing and up to 25% of energy consumption.

    Up to 70% of all developers working in OS related teams in Microsoft now are responsible for making updates that are both not related to any new features and to patching any security holes. I mean here that all they do is rewriting perfectly working code, usually adding size, slowing things down and adding abstraction layers (as developers level is much lower than 10-20 years ago).
