Need some advice, because i´m looking for any HQ flatbed photo scanner that can run without computer. So, i can take good digital scanning from old photos (slides and negatives will be a plus for sure) direct to a sd card / usb /internal memory without the need of a PC. It´s weird that i can´t find anyhing from big brands like epson/canon/brother ...
It is very small niche market.
And here usually HQ means connection to computer and in reverse - simple ones are horrible. This comes from people who buy such stuff, as people who buy autonomous thing do not worry about quality at all usually.
For scanning photo prints, look at the Epson Perfection range, preferably the upper-class models (4990, V600, V800) which often can be found second-hand for little money. They're only okay for scanning films and slides; better get a used Minolta or Nikon film scanner for that purpose. And, last not least, use good scanning software - Vuescan or Silverfast.
That's exactly the problem. This feature is very common in those mini portable craps. I'll be visiting old people from my corporation in next months and I have to take all photos from them. I don't want to carry both, scanner and laptop
Check Kodak products, even such simple as https://www.ebay.com/itm/KODAK-Mobile-Film-Scanner-Scan-Save-Old-35mm-Films-Slides-w-Your-Sm-New/174080687575
If you look you will find one with SD card and nice large screen.
