Capitalism: MSI president jumped out of window and died
  • Micro-Star International (MSI) president and CEO Charles Chiang died at the age of 56 following a fall from the seventh floor of the firm's headquarters in New Taipei on July 7.

The death is being investigated by police.

MSI said in a statement all company staff is deeply saddened by the death and it has kicked off emergency actions to maintain normal operations at all departments.

Having served at MSI for over 20 years, Chiang took the CEO post in January 2019 after leading the company's successful charge into the motherboards and graphic cards segment as head of Desktop Computing. The company managed to maintain strong profitability for gaming motherboards and graphic cards in 2019.

One of the reasons can be that he wanted to start talking to authorities about motherboard makers cartel who managed to rise average motherboard price by 30-50% and nearly tripled profits per each sold item.
