CP+ 2020 is scheduled to take place from Thursday, February 27th through Sunday, March 1st with a larger scale.
Organizers goal is 70,000 visitors.
The results of CP + 2019 were 124 companies, 1,148 booths, and 69,615 people, respectively, and the total number of exhibitors decreased from CP + 2018, but the number of booths and visitors increased.
The Camera & Imaging Products Association (CIPA) [President: Masaya Maeda, Address: MA Shibaura Bldg., 3-8-10 Shibaura, Minato-ku, Tokyo] will hold CP+ 2020, its comprehensive camera and imaging show, at Pacifico Yokohama and Osanbashi Hall from February 27 (Thursday) to March 1 (Sunday), 2020.
CP+, the world’s leading camera and imaging show, is now in its 11th year in the international city of Yokohama. Last time, it drew a record 69,615 attendees, and presented the World premiere of 26 new products from Japan to the world.
Other than exhibiting new products, the show will feature “Photo Weekend,” an event on Saturday and Sunday to convey the sheer fun of photography to a wide audience, with particular focus on millennial women, “PHOTO HARBOUR,” an art community space at Osanbashi Hall, and various other new events.
This array of attractions will fill four days with experiences that show the fun and wonder of photographic imaging to everyone from families to pro photographers.
Sigma will have a press conference on February 27 at 10:00–12:00 local time. I still have no 100% certain details about the possible lens announcements. But there is a fair chance we might get the rumored 70-200mm f/2.8 FE lens!
Tamron Japan made it clear that this years CP+ show will be focused on the new 70-180mm f/2.8 FE lens. There will be a special touch and try corner for this lens. Also expect pricing and market release to be announced.

The CP + Secretariat announced on February 6 that the camera and photographic video event “CP + 2020” (February 27 to March 1) will be held as planned at this stage. Announcement following the outbreak of pneumonia caused by new coronavirus
According to the policy of the Ministry of Health, Labor and Welfare, the company is considering specific countermeasures and will strengthen cooperation with the venues, Pacifico Yokohama, Osanbashi Hall, and related government agencies, and work on appropriate countermeasures. The company is checking whether it can exhibit at 15 companies that will be exhibiting from mainland China.
The CP + secretariat will install a disinfectant solution at the entrance and exit of the venue. When visiting the booth, we strongly recommend that you wear a mask, wash your hands and gargle, and also request that exhibitors' booth staff understand how to wear the mask. In addition, if you are uneasy about your physical condition, you will be advised not to visit.
On February 27 at 10:00–12:00 local time Sigma will have a press conference to display their new gear. Obviously expect some new glass (like the 70-200mm f/2.8). They will also share some tidbits about the L-mount Foveon Full Frame camera.
