I had the chance to work with a great musician and friend Maneli Jamal to shoot a video of him performing his original song Cold Arrival.

He plays a very niche type of acoustic guitar called fingerstyle guitar ( Andy Mckee, Don Ross, Michael Hedges to name a few)

This was with the GH2, Flowmotion 2.0, Canon FD 24mm f2.8 and a wicked musician!

Overall I was really happy with how it handled the shoot from being on a crane, steadicam, handheld, and tripod.

The only problem I had which was my own fault, was that I left "continuous autofocus" turned on even though I was on the manual focus setting and it did hunt a few times. I have since turned it off.

The centerpiece of the project is four short films. The first three (“Mud,” “Concrete” and “Glass”) draw on The New York Times’s extraordinary visual archives, a repository of millions of photographs that have largely been unseen in decades. Each film is intended to evoke a chapter in a storybook, with rhyming narration and photographs brought to life with intricate animation. The fourth chapter (“Home”) is comprised of images submitted by the public.

They shot it on a ton of panasonic gear, HMC150, GH2 and AF100 are all used extensively. Check it out, and if you think it looks cool, throw them a couple of dollars. They're really, really close to putting the finishing touches on it. I've seen the Completed movie and it's excellent. Sad and funny at the same time.

Up until I got my GH1 2 years ago, I was shooting primarily on a Sony NX5U which was a very video oriented machine.

Since then, I feel I have begun taking a more cinematic approach to my videos and putting a lot more time into the composition and editing of my shots.

Shot on location at Central, TST and West Kowloon. With Panasonic GH1 and GH3.

GH2 was equipped with Moon T5 and T7, GH3 in MOV 50P mode and the camcorder was in AVCHD 50P and 28Mbit/s 50p. I am really satisfied with these cameras, but color correction and matching was really tricky with the camcorder. The codec fell apart as well unfortunatly.
