Recently me and my associates made a short documentary film about a typical Brazilian fruit. We shot it with two GH2 and a Gopro Hero 3. I love the image quality produced by the GH2, and there were no need to use a lot of color correction for the end result. I love the look of the film, and I hope you guys enjoy it.

Hacked GF2 footage topic https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2369/hacked-gf2-footage-topic Wed, 22 Feb 2012 14:49:23 +0000 THX1965 2369@/talks/discussions Now that the new PTool 3.64 supports the GF2 alongside the GH2 (Vitaliy, your work is absolutely amazing!!!), it would be great to see some actual footage with any of the new patches that also work for the GF2. There is bascially nothing out there on YouTube or Vimeo.

I'd love to add a GF2 to my GH2. Any hacked sample footage would really be helpful in making that decission.

Thanks to everyone in advance for this. I am sure I am not the only one who'd love to see some tests.

Here is a short film I shot mid last year. It started out as a 24 hour film fest entry and we ended up going way over our allotted time and figured we'd take it back in the editing room after the fest and polish it up for online viewing. It was shot on a hacked Gh2. Enjoy.

Speedbooster GH2 with CC30M sensor mod - Fishing Trip https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/8113/speedbooster-gh2-with-cc30m-sensor-mod-fishing-trip- Sat, 14 Sep 2013 23:28:47 +0000 pchristoph 8113@/talks/discussions
Family fishing trip I shot a few days ago. It was totally improvised. I didn't know the location or what I'd be able to capture until we arrived. Shoots like this are fun - you have to think quickly about how to develop the story with what you're given. I wanted to share this with you guys as it was my first shoot that I can post where I used the c/y speedbooster. Great piece of gear. I've shot a couple commercials this summer with it as well - but they are not public yet. I used a c/y to m42 adapter which worked flawlessly with my 35mm f2, 50mm macro f4, and 135mm f2.5 lenses. Shot using smooth all -2, and on a monopod 561hdv, and a mini hi hat with a manfrotto ball head. Edited and graded in fcpx. I'm also using a Lee CC30M gel cut and fixed in front of the sensor to give me a more even color distribution of RGB. (You must manually white balance when doing this, but I always do anyways.) Utilizing a CC30M gel is an effective form of pre grading your footage before it hits the sensor. I've tested this out all summer and credit Aki Hartikainen whose initial tests with the gh1 sparked my curiosity for experimenting with getting rid of the gh2 green cast and better post grading using this method.

I think it works in the extra wide, cuts out a lot of unnecessary sky in the ocean tracking shots. (see last half of the video)

GH2 - 'client experience' promo. Minus green gel key to good colors https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9438/gh2-client-experience-promo.-minus-green-gel-key-to-good-colors Fri, 24 Jan 2014 09:16:43 +0000 pchristoph 9438@/talks/discussions
My GH2's continue to get used in the most demanding of environments. I shot this corporate piece using GH2's in minus 20 weather in Edmonton, Canada back in November. Not a single card error or power issue, using Flowmotion 2.02. Cameras were rock solid. The weather made the grease in the takumar lens barrels pretty sluggish but everything held up great for the exterior shots. I continue to use a full minus green gel fixed against the sensor and manually WB for superb balanced colors with zero green cast for all interior and exterior conditions. I used a Kessler pocket dolly for slides and an hd400 glidecam for upping the production value. Lift shots we're from a 60ft Genie we hired out. Interviews were shot with 50mm and 35mm (with speedbooster). Interior interview lighting was with a 1k to a 5x3 bounce and a couple of Lowell pro kickers for hair and background lighting. Edited and coloured in the much improved FCPX 10.1

Made my first paid narrative short film. https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9422/made-my-first-paid-narrative-short-film. Wed, 22 Jan 2014 13:42:31 +0000 spaceandtime 9422@/talks/discussions For those curious I used:

A Panasonic Gh2 hacked with Moon T7 | 2, 6 bank and 2, 2 bank fluorescent lights (Kino flo knock offs) | A R-300 led ring light | Drop cloth for diffusion | Only Zoom H1 for audio (Wish I could of improved on this one)

As you can tell by my equipment I'm a small time amateur. I was blessed to get a paid offer to make a short film to be shown in front of hundreds of people for an upcoming venue. This was my first time directing actors older and in some ways more experienced than I am. The first day of production I was soo stressed didn't eat a good meal for about 12 hours lol It's kinda sad but I pretty much can't recall much of what happened during production on day 1. It's like I blacked out! It's a true miracle I got what I did. Also so many mistakes(audio and video) and unforeseen consequences on my part, at one point I wanted to just scrap it! If this was how being a director was, I wanted no part of it. But eventually my nervousness and anxiety went away and I became more focused and it worked out in the end, thank God. So here it is, a sneak peak of my short film.

Hueco Tanks Texas https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/9301/hueco-tanks-texas Wed, 08 Jan 2014 21:51:39 +0000 mpgxsvcd 9301@/talks/discussions If you love Climbing then you know where Hueco Tanks is. Got the chance to take my 10 year old son there for Christmas. It was truly one of the best experiences of my life.

Filmed with my Panasonic GH3, GoPro 3 Black, and Modified Full Spectrum GF1 simultaneously. I shot with the GoPro on the GH3's hot shoe so I would have simultaneous wide angle and tight views. The GF1 was on a tripod and was put in Black and White mode with contrast turned all the way up because of the extra UV/IR light that is let in. It can literally see in the dark.

No color grading was done at all. I simply don't have time for it. This is straight out of the camera video just pieced together with the music.

I think the future of filming is multiple cameras operated by a single person. Maybe just a pipe dream but it is still my dream.

Probably you've seen this video by Adam Magyar. Below is a very interesting talk Adam gave at PopTech about how and why he reached these results. Though the technique is far from new, he built everything himself to overcome physical obstacles along the way and to achieve his "vision". This is IMO is something worth praising and sharing. gashô
