In Paris at this time, they favored Flemish harpsichords from the renaissance family of Ruckers--these instruments were modified to have a slightly larger keyboard, along with some other changes, creating a unique hybrid.

"Sick Love" Orgy making-of https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/5642/sick-love-orgy-making-of Wed, 02 Jan 2013 04:04:48 +0000 radikalfilm 5642@/talks/discussions You came for the technical details, right? :) This is a shoot I provided production services for, I don't think the video is out yet. The "Director" operated a 5DMk2 as that's where his world ends; I shot the making-of on a Hague MMC stabilizer with the GH2 patched with Valkyrie 1.3. I used an old fixed lens (Pentacon 29mm/f2.8) that cost me like $25, it was the only one I had weight-wise that could be flown on the MMC.

For post I used AE (32bpc) with a filter stack along these lines: - NeatVideo for noise removal - ColorGhear (only Green Kill with luma curve adjustments, just for the convenience of the preset) - FilmConvert Pro (color temps ranging 4500-5600K, GH2 Smooth profile, Fuji Reala emulation, S35 sensor size, 33% grain). Since I shot most of the material with the "wrong" white-balance (intentionally) I used the color temp control of this plug-in to get a combined warm/cold look. Most lights on the set were 3200K. Using Adobe Media Encoder, I rendered out a Cineform 444 master, out of which I made a high-bitrate H.264, and this is what I uploaded. I let Vimeo downres from 1080p to 720p, which probably wasn't that smart. Maybe I should spring for a Pro account...

S☢☢C skoria series and quasi linear editing https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/10791/sc-skoria-series-and-quasi-linear-editing Mon, 14 Jul 2014 09:02:52 +0000 maxr 10791@/talks/discussions Hey there PV comrades =)

Gonna try to cut long story short. Wanted to do something with video where I hadn’t have to spend big time in complex editing/grading platforms and also very important addressing all this footage it accumulates and grows like dust & mold over a cat’s head – :P – and I just love rests

Anyway I went back to my beloved quicktime and quasi linear editing. So just took a tiny bit of each clip and copy-pasted them in a blank movie window. Very fast, no regrets, no undos, plain straight forward. Then simply cut a matching length clip of music and added to sequence always in QT. Deleted 90% of footage. Much fun =)

01 – used solely panny 14-140mm f4-5.8
02 – used solely rokkor 50mm f1.4 MC // genustech eclipse variND
03 – used solely panny 20mm f1.7
05 – used solely panny 20mm f1.7 (some ETC mode) - rigorously chronological, almost in-camera edit.

Oculus VR (Rift) installation https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11067/oculus-vr-rift-installation Mon, 18 Aug 2014 03:01:08 +0000 flablo 11067@/talks/discussions Just wanted to show an installation I made using 2 Oculus Rifts and people reactions. The theme of the event was lucid dreaming so basically it fitted perfectly with the experience given by the Oculus (you have to try it to appreciate it). The simulation was quite simple (I made it using Unity 3D) but the fact that it started with a 3D version of the same place/building you were actually in, did add some thrill.

The Oculus is a pretty damn interesting device and the effects on people who try it are powerful.

Show your best shot! https://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/11015/show-your-best-shot Sun, 10 Aug 2014 09:42:47 +0000 Grimor 11015@/talks/discussions I would like each of us, who are video creators or filmmakers show their best shot, or your favorite take. This one everyone speaks, or they ask for. It would be nice if a small explanation of how it was recorded and the reasons that make it so special for you.

My lucky shoot: (jump to 1´13")

Was recorded 2 years ago, with a gopro3 and a homemade cablecam following the jump of a police dog through the window of a van. The shot ends in closeup with the dog biting the driver. Was repeated 3 times, the first jump was very far of the cam, the second (this one), and third with dog's head crash against the camera!! Funny shooting day for me.

The camera performs pretty well.

I like the AEL lock feature which I used during the whole day with the camera set to aperture priority and auto ISO.

Peaking and especially focus punch-in works great!

But - I hate the record button placement and I miss the fully articulated screen on my Pannys.

HD Video from the Voices of Music Brandenburg Concerto project, 2013. One of Purcell’s last works, the play was staged in 1695, the year of Purcell's death, and the text of the play was written Aphra Behn. The Rondeau’s place in history was assured when the composer Benjamin Britten chose it for his Young Person's Guide to the Orchestra: Variations and Fugue on a Theme of Purcell (1946). After Purcell's death, his wife Frances gathered much of his unpublished works, and these were printed as “A collection of ayres, compos'd for the theatre and upon other occasions .”

This music video was shot with a Sony Fs700 and Samyang lenses.

Check the shots at night, they were all made at 50 fps, without help of any speedbooster, just the combination of the Samyang lenses and the right exposure.

We had no help of any kind of light equipment, because we didn't have the budget... just the street lights. For those who are thinking to buy this camera, I can just say that the Sony Fs700 is really a good deal for what it can deliver. See for yourself. And the grain... was put on purpose on post-production to have that dirty effect.
