Ok, that topic title was just a gross attempt to share some works made with that wonderful tool, my very first videocam : you name it, the mighty GH2 ^^ Honestly I put a hack a loooong time ago and I can't even remember what it is :p Thanks to the PV community I've learned some basics about everything, from workflow to lightning, I've read a lot, but not wrote much things. For now I must thank you all. The Hack was a good reason not to take the Canon (rebel) way, no regret here ;) I've compiled 3 years of various shooting made with our creative collective, I will be glad to know your personals views on this :

. I'd like to say that a GH4 is VERY tempting, however I chose to invest in glass, small rigs acessories etc. Not much money left so no excuse for GAS :D Force me to prep more my shots (GH2 is not very forgiving in post for heavy grading, even with the hack).

Super Sharp ISCO Anamorphic + GH4 + 4kUHD

I found a bit of free time to try out this camera & lens combo. The super sharp ISCO Anamorphic Ultra Star (2x squeeze) and my GH4 shooting at 4kUHD. The video file has been re compressed 3 times including youtubes compression. Try to watch in HD.

My base lens that the ISCO was screwed onto was my good old manual Olympus 50mm f1.8 (OM) EXTRA INFO - because my Olympus 50mm was adapted for a canon mount i also had a Canon to M43 adapter fitted to the GH4. Picture profile was CineLike-D. 4k Footage was imported and edited in Davinci Resolve 11 Lite. When exporting from the 4k timeline to a Mp4 master file the blacks were pulled down slightly, even when i had the correct export setting like 'DATA' value instead of 'VIDEO' value, so the footage should have been Flatter looking. Ahoy thar fellow GH mateys... got a new ship I be driving...

Been away for a long time having a blast shooting all sorts of wild things and acting directing. I thought I would share this little clip (to show off my new car ** cough ** I mean spaceship) and also show 60fps vs 30 fps vs 24fps in the same shot.

24p film look vs 60p live look in ONE file so you can see the psychological effect. You'll need to DOWNLOAD and play (only 1280 x 720p sorry full 1920 x 1080p was too big. This switches in REAL time between the two in the same shot so you can really feel out the difference. I prefer 24p for narrative story telling and 60p for POV horror or news live look or 3D holographic shooting which I have been doing lately (not with the gh2 - using modded sony 3D pro cam, consumer ts10, and red epic for that). Note: this will only stream at 30p online (i really dislike 30p) you must download and play to see what I am talking about, No current online streaming service that I know of except for LIVESTREAM currently supports 60i or 60p streaming. I HAVE done it with livestream on my site which is astounding WHEN it works but it is still a little unreliable as of yet you need a business class hard wired ethernet cable and black magic card and an upstream of at least 20mbit down 5 megabit up CONSTANT. 1.5 won't do. Wifi won't do even dual band it gets blips. I can do 848 x 480 and sometimes 1280 x 720p live with a 4G card.

Singapore Selfies

Many times I have visited Singapore already on business trips, a lovely city in the heart of Asia. It exhibits an interesting contrast - the skyline feels like a cold, future extraterrestrial space, whereas the streets are crowded with lovely people who enjoy shopping, dining outside and just hanging around at street corners.

On all these trips I did some filming, but the ends never came together. The last two times it was different, as I discovered a theme which would bridge the contrast - the selfie's. Never, in any other city did I see so many people making cell phone pictures of themselves and relatives in front of the futuristic skyline.

And in the end that was the connection between the people and the futuristic skyline.

Hello to you!

I never posted anything here on personal view, but I've been reading quietly and learning gratefully from a lot of you guys for years. Thanks to all the good advices, patches, technical mumbo jumbo and the community (I never took part of) I was able to work on several projects, little videos, a short film and music videos. This is my first video I'm confident enough to share and throw into the shark infested waters. It was part of a creative invite by the old man himself. I've admired him for a long time and this was my chance to maybe give back a bit. I had two weeks to do this, wish I had more time for editing. I know I've made a couple rookie mistakes, but nevertheless I'm proud. Because I probably would not have made this without this forum, it should also be here. Thanks to Vitaliy, Driftwood and a lot of others! Enjoy

Hi fox ! This is my last edit, a short film about freestyle snowboarding. A beautiful day in a marvelous park with the two killers Matteo Cuny and Nicolas Palladio. Top of the pop, we finished with a beautiful sunset. So glad and happy to have shot this.

Clownfish Eggs. GH4 underwater with Olympus 12-50mm

I shot these saddleback clownfish tending their eggs with a Panasonic GH4 in a Nauticam NA-GH4 housing. I used an Olympus M.Zuiko ED 12-50mm f3.5-6.3 EZ lens in the special Nauticam port that allows switching to the 43mm macro mode.

I love the panning and cropping capability that 4K gives me when publishing in 1080p. The slow zooms at the start and end were done in post and the most closeup shot at 0:43 was just a straight crop to 1080.

My Film "Blind" and the experience!

Hi guys, just wanted to showcase the film I've been working on. It first started off as a feature length project, but after decisions were made later, we decided to make it into a feature short film (that's for another discussion). The project in itself took about 5 months to complete due to various reasons, most of them being out of my control, but I ended up handling all of the post production for the film. While I don't encourage people to use this motto in filmmaking, I told myself that if you want it done right then you have to do it yourself. After failing to find an appropriate composer for the film, I decided to score the film myself which meant learning audio. We also originally wanted two editors on the project and found an amazing editor who was local, but of course he got tied up with projects and that plan fell through.

All in all, I was the "Jack of All Trades" for the film, and due to the fact that I'm an avid procrastinator, it was a very tedious process. By far any attention or advice I've gotten has been from the personal-view forums, so of course this film was shot entirely with the GH2, aside from about 2 scenes, and I wanted to update the people who I spoke with consistently on the site about the project. The project is now finished and we released it on IndieReign.com alongside a brand new trailer for the film! Though I'm terrible at taking constructive criticism (all filmmakers are), I wanted to share the trailer with everyone on the personal-view site regardless, I mean after all we all don't just get crew and actors together just to film a personal home movie to lock in a vault!

I'm currently back to writing a new project but I plan on putting together a few youtube tutorial videos focusing mainly on how I scored the film, went about color grading the film itself, and how I went about with the pre-production of the film (casting calls, paperwork, shot lists, scheduling). I hope you guys enjoy the trailer for the film and thank you for the ones who read all of this before actually watching the trailer!

My latest video from last Sat, shot with minimal gear (restricted to 7kg carry-on), GH2, LPowell Flowmotion V2, 720p 50@ the low bitrate setting (H), Audio was camera mounted VideoMic Pro into the GH2 jack, Lens 14-140 kit, lightweight 25mm PVC conduit shoulder rig. Hawaiiian Air threw $600k at this event and a plane full of dancers, singers, promotional people and a camera crew of 5 plus drone pilot. I've only used my footage for this short highlights. My fee was 1/1200th of the $600k....and they paid the $59 to park my car.
