Also, which Driftwood GOP1 would you recommend for a nice fine-grain sizzle? We'll be shooting in an old house, mostly with natural light through the kitchen window, and a simple light kit to fill in if necessary.

Then I edit my project. when I'm happy I want to send it to after effects to add some motion stabilizer and magic bullet looks cause FCPX can't handle looks yet. Now should I export it full size?? ok then I get it in AE C5.5 (this time the file was 1,8 Gb). I do my things but its extremely slow cause of the big file.

then I export it again and put it in FCPX again to add music and then I export it to vimeo (this time the file is 10,5 Gb?????).

I feel I'm not doing the right thing files are huge and the computer is suffering :).

We received word that Apple had issued a memo this afternoon announcing re-availability of the product.

We confirmed with an Apple telesales representative at 800-MY-APPLE that Final Cut Studio, part number MB642Z/A, is again available for $999 (and $899 for educational customers). The product is only available through the 800-number and is not available in Apple Retail Stores or on the Apple Online Store.

I'm trying to understand some of the processes going on in my work flow and I was hoping someone could assist. Just to clarify, I am not a professional, just a hobbiest so I apologize if I seem a little under-educated on some of these topics...

I shoot with a GH13 (thanks Vitaliy) and I use lpowell's "reliable in camera playback v2" patch (40Mbps FHD mode - AVCHD 1920x1080 24p video (interlaced)).

Heres the rub. When I import my files into iMovie it shows my frame rate as 30p and not 24p. As I understand it iMovie is converting my files into the apple intermediate codec (right?). My assumption also is that while my camera sensor is capturing 24p the AVCHD codec is wrapping it in a 60 field interlaced video. So what's going on here? Is iMovie removing the wrapper (ie. de-interlacing?), and if so why does it end up 30p vs 24p?
