The Chinese government has banned online platforms from broadcasting games online without special permission. "The operation of platforms that violate the rules for conducting audiovisual broadcasts of games on the Internet is strictly prohibited," the regulators said in a statement.

"All kinds of audiovisual programs hosting movies and series, variety programs, video streaming services and short videos are prohibited from broadcasting online games without obtaining special permission from the competent authorities," the document says. In addition, the regulator banned them from increasing user traffic to gaming content.
