Birders of the world rejoice as Nikon has announced a new and improved update to the company’s popular COOLPIX P1000 with the new P1100. This COOLPIX P1100 model is set to bring 125x optical zoom which will span across a 24-3000mm full-frame equivalent focal length.Let’s look at this new COOLPIX P1100, its 16MP CMOS sensor, and its photo and video recording capabilities. We’ll also explore how this camera can be used for perhaps more than just birding and nature photography and documentation with its UHD 4K video at 30fps.The Nikon COOLPIX P1100 Digital CameraDesigned to retain many of the best qualities of its P100 predecessor, including—most notably to some—the camera’s 125x optical zoom which spans a stunning 24-3000mm full-frame equivalent focal length. The new P1100 is complemented by a 16MP CMOS sensor which should help photographers on the telephoto end with Nikon’s Dual Detect Optical VR. This feature will offer up to four steps of image stabilization and support handheld use when shooting birds, celestial bodies, or other distant subjects. The lens for the P1100 will sport an f/2.8 maximum aperture and also feature extra-low dispersion and super extra-low dispersion elements to ensure the clarity and resolution of images throughout the zoom range.
