We've been poking around at this topic all year, and filmmaker Mercedes Arutro has entered the discourse with her latest short film, "Back Home". We had the pleasure of speaking with Mercedes, a multidisciplinary artist whose work spans film, theater, and visual arts. Selected for the prestigious Rising Voices Programme in 2024, Mercedes created Back Home, a thought-provoking short film that delves into the future of artists in an AI-driven world, and is now in contention for the Oscar shortlist.
