My body has firmware 1.0 - this needs upgraded to vers 1.2 before I can activate the DMW-SFU2 paid upgrade. So far, I can only find vers 2.2 on the Panasonic website. Is there an archive of older formware that anybody knows about, or can I install 2…

Canon EOS R5 - Overheating video failure
Good old butthurt Andrew Not once has Canon communicated with me in the build up to the EOS R5 launch or asked my opinion. If their cameras lack a passive cooling design, who is to blame? Yes that’s right. Canon!

Opinions on Camera Sliders that have a parallax panning feature and cost less than $500?
Why don’t you try an audio test with the syrp? So many times I’ve heard stuff in the room and got back to post and it’s inaudible. Try recording a conversation or a dummy interview and go from there

@bwhitz - why not buy a Sony alpha series camera instead? It’s a big ask for a significantly sub 2k camera to produce anything like the footage that a red, an arri, a varicam or even an fs7 produces

4x4 ND filters: fixed set, or double polarizers as variable ND?
Genus have brought out a new vari ND filter (I have their Genustech Eclipse, which is better than the Tiffen vari nd which I also own). Looks like the first vari ND to properly incorporate a polarising filter as well. http://www.genustech.tv/collec…

@Jessy - I shoot in natural with no menu adjustments, and love the footage produced by flow motion 2.02. Other people will have different preferences, but you shouldn't try to get a 'log' style profile out of the camera.

I use the Hitachi/Travelstar 1tb 7200rpm hhd in the recommended atomos list - no problems so far (touchwood). Noise is a non issue.

@Tron - sadly, the software doesn't do any resizing i.e. transcode from 4k to 1080 - it just brings the footage out of log (it's a lut to all intents and purposes). Thanks anyway
