I think they bounced the image off a mirror and onto a video camera and then made the DVD, I think. Anyway, the transfer isn't bad really and I've edited the footage in Premiere on and off over the years, however, I was recently thinking that there must be better ways of doing it today in 2013. Has anyone here had their Super 8 films ran through a proper film scanner for archiving? How did it look? Did it cost a million dollars? ; ) I have about 13 reels of various lengths. If it is hyper pricey I wouldn't do it, but of course that's relative to the person. I've done a google search but I'm looking to hear from someone here who might have done this.

Transferring Super 8mm Film: Best GH2 picture mode for accurate color reproduction? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6537/transferring-super-8mm-film-best-gh2-picture-mode-for-accurate-color-reproduction Thu, 28 Mar 2013 22:18:12 +0000 powderbanks 6537@/talks/discussions I have collected several reels of Super 8mm film over the years and I finally picked up a transfer 'box' from eBay. Most of the footage is color and general 'home video' stuff (Christmas, somebody's wedding, some kid's birthday, etc), so what is the best picture profile on the GH2 to accurately reproduce the original color of the film?

I typically shoot with 'Smooth' all at -2, but that's so I get a very flat, gradable image. I will probably transcode the AVCHD files straight to an internet ready H.264 file, but I have no plans of grading any of it.

Panasonic GH3 - How to transfer photos via WIFI to PC? http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/6177/panasonic-gh3-how-to-transfer-photos-via-wifi-to-pc Mon, 18 Feb 2013 22:54:53 +0000 NMS 6177@/talks/discussions I am trying to get the Panasonic GH3 set up to send photos over WIFI to my PC using the Photofuntudio 8.5PE software. The issue is that the camera asks for a user name and password. I can never get it to connect. I can not figure out where to set the user name and password on the PC.

Anyone get the GH3 to connect to your PC for WIFI photo transfer? Anyone get a Mac to work?

Avchd file copy question http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/2260/avchd-file-copy-question Sun, 12 Feb 2012 18:14:01 +0000 donf 2260@/talks/discussions On my Gh2 flash memory I see that the avchd files are down in some directories under /private. It also appears that there are some kind of index files in another subdirectory. If I want to delete/manage the files thru a flash reader (not with my camera) do I need to manage several files or can I just work with what appears to be the avchd files(the large ones) or do I need to manage other related files too? Another way of asking this is to say can I just copy 1 avchd file like I copy my *.jpg files to my pc?

I've googled this and not had any success.

GH2 Long Recording Problems http://personal-view.com/talks/discussion/1151/gh2-long-recording-problems Tue, 11 Oct 2011 20:33:34 +0000 whynot 1151@/talks/discussions I have done some tests at 4hrs on a Transcend 64GB Class 10 card. (Card was reformatted prior to recording)
Recording at 24p FSH (Unhacked GH2) AVCHD
Using a powerpack.

When I look at the recorded files there are a few dropped or corrupted frames at the beginning of each 4GB section.
Has anyone else come across this problem? I thought the camera was supposed to handle spanning without any problems on an unhacked GH2?
I am doing a test on a sandisk Class10 32 GB card presently to see if the card is the problem.
Any suggestions would be welcomed as this puts an stop on my current project.
