I want to built a 4/3 to m4/3 speedbooster, to use my 4/3-lenses on my BMPCC and reduce the crop factor. The Metabones is the only one with electronic contacts, on all other adapters the glas element is to large to fit the contacts besides it.

BUT, as I don't know if that really works and I don't want to spend $600+ for an uncertain experiment (the adapter gets heavily modified/milled), I'm looking for a damaged adapter costing not much more than shipping.

Hi, I hope I got the correct category for this thread. A friend and I share a GH2 with a lot of equipment like crane, tripod, follow focus, shoulder rig, slider etc. We need an advice for lenses we also could use in the future on a newer camera. GH2 is getting old, has to much noise, is not weather resistent and so on.

GH4, a Canon or a Blackmagic camera could be the choice in the future. As far as I figured out if we choose the path with Canon EF lenses we can use them on MFT cameras with Metabones Speedbooster EF to MFT Ultra 0.71x.

Would you advise to use Canon EF mount lenses with Speedbooster instead of native MFT mount lenses? Brands like Rokinon offer mounts in different variations so my plan would be to buy Rokinon lenses as EF mounts and put them on the Speedbooster on MFT devices.
What about powering the speedbooster? Do I need external power source on GH2 if I want to use electronic lenses?
Could you also recommend some wide angle lenses for our GH2?
What do we shoot? Nothing special just basic stuff like nature, streets, indoor, ...

Aperture blades Noise on GH4 with Metabones

My Panny GH4+ Sigma 18-35 paired with Metabones MFT-EF Speedbooster Old 0.71x version) is giving a prominently audible Aperture blades opening and closing noise (Both with the jog dial and the manual lever on the MB-SB) suddenly. This sound was not there until last time i had touched my camera (like 10 days back) and updated my Metabones firmware to 2.0 (Could the update be the reason for this iris sound or something else? I have already tried the remove and reattach the lens and the adapter, dint work.

Any clue?

I am selling my 1 week old Metabones Speedbooster XL 0.64x. Comes boxed as new and is only a week or so old. Bought to use for one project as client demanded we shoot with a GH4 with Canon Glass, and it was amazing. However, I no longer need the speedbooster as I prefer to shoot with the FS7, hence the sale.

I am selling for $600 USD including postage. Considering it's so new it's already a bargain as it includes postage.

Mitakon VS JR Speed Boosters

Hi guys, i'm a GH4 owner. I read both threads about Mitakon and RJ speed booster but i still can't decide which one is better.

It seems both suffer of blue dot. It seems Mitakon is sharper in the center and blurrer in the corners but RJ is less sharper than Mita in the center but it is more sharp in the overall. I read Mitakon has some color issues Mitakon is a bit more expensive than JR and built quality seems to be better than JR. I'm also worried because Mitakon has another Speed booster in the second version of the product and EF-MFT speedbooster is just in the first version. Should I wait? How much better is the second version compared with the first one?

I'm quite confused about this two Speed Boosters. I'm going to use it mainly with a Kiron Kino Precision 28mm f2 and a Helios 44-2 58mm f2

Please, could you give me your impressions and final thoughts about this two lenses?

I got the Metabone Canon EF Lens to Micro Four Thirds Speed Booster which i wish to pair with my next purchase, Sigma 18-35 1.8 lens onto a Panny GH2 body.

Does the Speedbooster feature activate on the GH2 only with a external third-party 5 Volt MicroUSB power supply?

If yes, could anyone who has experience in it share a tried and tested third party 5 volt MicroUSB brand i would need to buy for the same?

Please feel free to share any other views on MB SB+ GH2 setup.

i'm considering of buying these canon FD lens but afraid it might not work; Canon FD 17mm f1.4 and 85mm f1.8

Speed Booster or Native MFT Lenses?

I have a GH2. I primarily do video. I have three native MFT lenses: Panasonic 25mm f/1.4, 14mm f/2.5, and 14-140mm f/4.0-5.6. I have done a lot of searching about the Metabones Speed Booster but want some confirmation if I should go ahead and get one. I really like Nikkor AIS lenses and am wondering if it would be wise to invest in a set of AIS lenses (and possibly some others) and a Speed Booster rather than more native MFT glass.

The reasons I want the Speed Booster are pretty obvious: extra stop of light, wider viewing angle... But I want to know if it's really worth it. Will it actually make my lenses look better? I really want to know what the downsides are. Are there GH2/3 shooters who use the Speed Booster exclusively?

I'd really appreciate any pointers or discussion on this.

I am a DSLR man at heart so selling, used the BMCC on two shoots, ditto speedbooster. BMCC has small scratch on aluminium casing at top from magic arm on first day!
